Arena Reports
11/3 WWE in San Diego: Mysterio & Hunter vs. Orton & Umaga, Hardy vs. Kennedy, Santino vs. Kendrick Nov 6, 2007 - 8:29:44 AM
WWE house show
November 13, 2007
San Diego, Calif.
Report by Robert Perry, PWTorch.com correspondent
Got back from San Diego show. Arena was about 3/4 full. They announced Smackdown will be back in February. Here's the rundown. I am missing some names of some of the jobbers because the sound system was not good:
(1) Santino beat Brian Kendrick- good energy to the opening match. Santino won when he blocked Kendrick's finisher.
(2) Carlito beat a jobber look alike with the back cracker. Caught the ending as I went to the concessions during this time.
(3) Jim Duggan beat William Regal. Regal ran down San Diego and called out any American to face him. Hacksaw keep out (he looked old as hell). Hacksaw won with a clothesline.
(4) Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch beat Cody Rhodes & Hardcore Holly and Haas and Benjamin in a three way tag team match when Cade pinned Haas with his finisher. Afterward Holly kicked Haas in the groin.
Mr. Kennedy [artist Grant Gould (c) PWTorch]
(5) Jeff Hardy beat Mr. Kennedy via the swanton in a great match. Kennedy did his whole intro and bragged about the Packers. Surprisingly he didn't bring up the fact that the Pack beat the Chargers a few weeks ago. Both guys were over.
Maria came out and threw t-shirts to the crowd during intermission. She teased taking off her shirt but was interrupted by a Russian whose name I did not catch
(6) Russian beat Super Crazy. I had to take my daughter to the restroom during this match. Crazy was over as there were tons of "Mexico" chants during the match. Fans also chanted "Culero" which is the Spanish equivalent of "A-hole"
(7) Beth Phoenix beat Mickie James with her finisher. There was a loud "She's a man" chant during the match. Mickie is attractive in person.
(8) Rey Mysterio & Triple H beat Umaga & Randy Orton when Triple H hit the pedigree on Orton after Umaga & Orton received a double 619 from Mysterio. Mysterio came to the ring with a LaDanian Tomlinson Jersey complete with shoulder pads. He pointed to the jersey and was yelling "He's the best". (Hope he has a big game versus the Vikes, j/k). Good match. Triple H & Rey brought Rey's daughter in the ring after the match. Rey's daughter was wearing a mask also. Hunter had her do the DX sign. It looks like Hunter & Rey enjoyed soaking the cheers from the fans.
Great time. My daughter enjoyed her first WWE event.
BIGGEST BABYFACE POPS
1. Rey Mysterio: What else would you expect in th 619
2. Triple H: A close second
3. Jeff Hardy
MOST HEEL HEAT
1. Santino-: He was first out.
2. Randy Orton: Tons of "Randy Sucks" chant
3. William Regal: He ran down San Diego and said it sucked.
QUICK TIPS FOR SENDING RESULTS
If you attend an arena event in future, either house shows or TV tapings, we encourage you to send us a report for publication. You can direct your reports to "matchresults07" (@pwtorch. com).
We accept reports in any format, but if it's not much trouble, please format your report like you see above, with the matches numbered like this (1) , (2) , (3) , with the opening line of each match paragraph stating who beat whom (don't just say Wrestler A vs. Wrestler beat with the result listed later; instead, state up front who won so those readers who don't have time to read the entire report (i. e. their boss walks past their cubicle all the time looking beat their shoulder) can at least quickly assess the results.
Also, please list tag teams using the "&" symbol as opposed to stating "and. " Reserve use of " and" when listing results in a three-way or four-way match where there are no teams (i. e. " Wrestler A beat Wrestler B and Wrestler C in a three-way match" ) so it is easy to differentiate a handicap match from a three-way match.
If you know HTML coding for bolding, you can also bold out the first line of each match description. If you don't know HTML symbols, then we can add those ourselves.
Special thanks to everyone who helps us with reports on live events!
