Arena Reports
11/24 in WWE in Knoxville, Tenn.: Kane & Undertaker vs. MVP & Edge, Punk vs. Burke, Noble vs. Funaki Nov 25, 2007 - 1:44:11 PM
WWE Smackdown/ECW House Show
November 24, 2007
Knoxville Civic Center - Knoxville, Tenn
Report by Justin Moses, Torch VIP Member
The show started promptly at 7:30 p.m. and lasted until 10 p.m. I got there just a bit late, so the first match was started before I got to my seat. It was probably the worst house show I've attended, but not completely horrible either. Best matches were the tag team elimination match and the main event. Not sure how many the Knoxville Civic Center holds but it was pretty full. Good lively crowd through the whole show.
(1) Chuck Palumbo won a squash over a jobber whose name I didn't catch.
(2) John Morrison & The Miz defeated Jesse & Festus and Deuce & Domino in a three-way tag team elimination match. Jesse eliminated Deuce & Domino with a pin, then Miz pinned Jesse after Morrison interfered. Lots of cheers for Festus. Good match with a weak finish.
(3) Chavo Guerrero beat Charles Evans with a rollup.
(4) Big Daddy V (w/ Matt Striker) defeated Tommy Dreamer in a short match with an elbow drop.
(5) Torrie Wilson & Michelle McCool defeated Victoria & Maryse
Intermission
(6) Jamie Noble pinned Funaki. Not much heat for this one.
(7) C.M. Punk defeated Ellijah Burke with his finisher. This match was a little slow with several boring rest holds in the middle, but the crowd was really into Punk. It picked up near the end with Punk hitting his signature spots and overall it was a good match.
(8) Kane & Undertaker defeated MVP & Edge. Taker pinned MVP after a double choke-slam and then a tombstone piledriver. Taker's entrance got the loudest pop of the night and the crowd stayed into him the whole time. MVP and Edge did a lot of stalling before the match, but it was decent once it got started.
BIGGEST POPS
1) Undertaker
2) C.M. Punk
3) Jesse & Festus
4) Torrie Wilson
MOST HEEL HEAT
1) Chavo Guerrero (after saying Knoxville sucks)
2) MVP & Edge (after stalling and baling out on tags)
3) Deuce & Domino
QUICK TIPS FOR SENDING RESULTS
If you attend an arena event in future, either house shows or TV tapings, we encourage you to send us a report for publication. You can direct your reports to "matchresults07" (@pwtorch. com).
We accept reports in any format, but if it's not much trouble, please format your report like you see above, with the matches numbered like this (1) , (2) , (3) , with the opening line of each match paragraph stating who beat whom (don't just say Wrestler A vs. Wrestler beat with the result listed later; instead, state up front who won so those readers who don't have time to read the entire report (i. e. their boss walks past their cubicle all the time looking beat their shoulder) can at least quickly assess the results.
Also, please list tag teams using the "&" symbol as opposed to stating "and. " Reserve use of " and" when listing results in a three-way or four-way match where there are no teams (i. e. " Wrestler A beat Wrestler B and Wrestler C in a three-way match" ) so it is easy to differentiate a handicap match from a three-way match.
If you know HTML coding for bolding, you can also bold out the first line of each match description. If you don't know HTML symbols, then we can add those ourselves.
Special thanks to everyone who helps us with reports on live events!
