(4) Austin Aries & Bryan Danielson beat Roderick Strong & Davey Richards in a First Round tag title tournament match. Sean says it was stiff and great. Finish was Strong submitting to Danielson in a triangle lock. (***1/2)
(5) Kevin Steen & El Generico beat Chris Hero & Adam Pearce in a Semi-final tag title tournament match. Hero and Pearce worked over Steen's injured leg, but Hero took an accidental blow from Hagadorn, who was holding the briefcase. Generico then rolled up Hero. Lucky win for Steen & Generico advancing to the finals. (*1/2)
(6) Jimmy Jacobs & Tyler Black beat Austin Aries & Bryan Danielson via DQ in a Semi-final tag title tournament match. Quick match and DQ came when referee caught Aries holding a chair when Jacobs introduced the chair into the ring. Crowd wasn't happy with the finish and chanted, "bulls---." Jacobs & Black vs. Steen & Generico in the finals. (n/a)
Intermission Notes - ROH returns to Connecticut on October 24. About 500-550 in attendance.
(7) Shane Hagadorn beat Alex Payne.
Larry Sweeney came out and claimed Hero & Pearce were fast-counted earlier. He called out Claudio Castagnoli to face Eddie Edwards.
(8) Claudio Castagnoli beat Eddie Edwards with an elevated European uppercut. (**)
(9) Erick Stevens beat Necro Butcher and Brent Albright when Stevens pinned Necro with a Dr. Bomb. During the match, Necro not surprisingly took a wicked an insane chairshot from Stevens. Afterward, Sweet 'n Sour, Inc. tried to beat down Albright, but he chased them off. (***)
(10) Tyler Black & Jimmy Jacobs beat Kevin Steen & El Generico to become the new ROH tag team champions. They pulled a Paul Pierce with Generico being carried off mid-match with an injury. He returned after Black and Jacobs worked on Steen's injured leg forever. Seemed like Steen and Generico were finally going to win the belts, as they set up the brainbuster and Package Piledriver combo, but Black rolled up Generico for the win. Major heat on the finish with beer, trash, and soda thrown into the ring. Jacobs then cut a promo boasting about the title victory. Sean says best match of the night. (***1/2)
