6/20 TNA in Bloomington, Ill.: Joe vs. Steiner, Borash, Storm vs. Shark Boy, Borash, Styles vs. Roode, Borash... Jun 21, 2008 - 12:05:33 PM
TNA house show
June 20, 2008
Bloomington, Ill.
Report by Nick O'Donoghue, PWTorch.com reader
TNA ran its first show in Bloomington, Ill. last night. The crowd was probably around 1,500 or so and really into the action throughout the night. The action was pretty standard, but the crowd really seemed to enjoy it.
(1) Curry Man defeated Johnny Devine. Fun opener.
(2) Roxxi & Tracy Brooks defeated Velvet Sky & Angelina Love, after the Love & Sky attacked Roxxi & Brooks, but ODB came out and cleared the ring. She shared a drink with Roxxi & Brooks.
(3) Eric Young pinned Kip James. Half way through the match Eric Young transformed into Super Eric underneath the ring. Really goofy match, very little actual wrestling.
(4) A.J. Styles pinned Robert Roode. Pretty good match here.
Intermission
(5) X-Division Champion Petey Williams over Consequences Creed & Kaz. Solid acton throughout.
(6) James Storm (w/Jackie Moore) pinned Shark Boy. So-so action with lot of restholds from Storm.
(7) TNA Champion Samoa Joe pinned Scott Steiner. Good main event.
Notes: Okay show overall. The annoying thing about TNA house shows is Borash talking between every match. It really seems to stall things. After the show you could pose with Samo Joe in the ring for $20.
TIPS FOR SENDING IN HOUSE SHOW REPORTS
If you attend an arena event in future, either house shows or TV tapings, we encourage you to send us a report for publication. You can direct your reports to "matchresults07" (@pwtorch. com).
We accept reports in any format, but if it's not much trouble, please format your report like you see above, with the matches numbered like this (1) , (2) , (3) , with the opening line of each match paragraph stating who beat whom (don't just say Wrestler A vs. Wrestler beat with the result listed later; instead, state up front who won so those readers who don't have time to read the entire report (i. e. their boss walks past their cubicle all the time looking beat their shoulder) can at least quickly assess the results.
Also, please list tag teams using the & symbol as opposed to stating and. Reserve use of and when listing results in a three-way or four-way match where there are no teams (i. e. Wrestler A beat Wrestler B and Wrestler C in a three-way match ) so it is easy to differentiate a handicap match from a three-way match.
If you know HTML coding for bolding, you can also bold out the first line of each match description. If you don't know HTML symbols, then we can add those ourselves.
Special thanks to everyone who helps us with reports on live events!
Send feedback on this article to pwtorch@gmail.com and we'll regularly publish reader feedback in the "Torch Feedback" category on the Main Listing.
