9/7 WWE Unforgiven PPV HOLT report: What fans in the arena saw that PPV viewers might have missed Sep 8, 2008 - 12:33:43 PM
WWE Unforgiven HOLT report
Cleveland, Ohio
September 7, 2008
Report by Paul Greer of Elyria, Ohio, PWTorch VIP Subscriber
There was a dark match before the PPV that featured Evan Borne defeating John Morrison.
I saw this PPV live and at times this was a tough crowd. They were brutal towards the women's match which didn't come off as smooth as the same match-up at a recent house show, but not anywhere as poor as the crowd treated it.
The crowd was on their feet almost the entire time of the Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels match.
While the Jericho win was nice in the final Scramble, eliminating C.M. Punk from the main event gave us 15 minutes of bad big man wrestling and it killed the audience.
The ECW Scramble was my favorite of the three. It was inventive and very realistic at the end with Hardy stopping anyone from gaining another pinfall.
The WWE Title scramble was typical Triple H and made everyone but Jeff Hardy look weak, but the crowd ate it up.
Cryme Tyme got a nice pop when they came out, but the pacing of the match was too dull to keep the crowd's interest.
When the cameras stopped rolling at the end of the PPV, Batista threw around the ring steps in anger of losing the main event.
I'd give the event a 6.5 score live. Best Match:Jericho vs. Michaels. Worst Match: World Title Scramble.
BIGGEST BABYFACE POPS:
Undertaker
HBK
Triple H
Jeff Hardy
MOST HEEL HEAT:
Chris Jericho
Divas title match
Big Show (after five mintues of quiet, the crowd finally showered him with jeers).
TIPS FOR SENDING IN HOUSE SHOW REPORTS
If you attend an arena event in future, either house shows or TV tapings, we encourage you to send us a report for publication. You can direct your reports to pwtorch@gmail.com.
We accept reports in any format, but if it's not much trouble, please format your report like you see above, with the matches numbered like this (1) , (2) , (3) , with the opening line of each match paragraph stating who beat whom (don't just say Wrestler A vs. Wrestler beat with the result listed later; instead, state up front who won so those readers who don't have time to read the entire report (i. e. their boss walks past their cubicle all the time looking beat their shoulder) can at least quickly assess the results.
Also, please list tag teams using the & symbol as opposed to stating and. Reserve use of and when listing results in a three-way or four-way match where there are no teams (i. e. Wrestler A beat Wrestler B and Wrestler C in a three-way match ) so it is easy to differentiate a handicap match from a three-way match.
If you know HTML coding for bolding, you can also bold out the first line of each match description. If you don't know HTML symbols, then we can add those ourselves.
Special thanks to everyone who helps us with reports on live events!
