Headline News: Kevin Steen beat Sami Callahan to retain the PWG Title... Super Smash Bros. won the annual DDT4 tag tournament to earn a future PWG Tag Title shot against Steen & Super Dragon.
(1) RockNES Monsters beat Fightin' Taylor Boys in a First Round DDT4 tag tournament match. Good match from two very good teams. I believe Brian "Cage" Taylor will be in WWE some day. He has the look and all the talent in the world.
(2) Future Shock (Adam Cole & Kyle O'Reilly) beat The Dynasty (Joey Ryan & Scorpio Sky) in a First Round DDT4 tag tournament match. Not as good as the first match, but still a good one. Cole and O'Reilly continue to improve and will be stars some day soon.
(3) Two Husky Black Guys (El Generico & Willie Mack) beat Roderick Strong & Sami Callihan in a First Round DDT4 tag tournament match. El Generico is always amazing, and Willie Mack is continuing to improve with every match. Strong is a good young wrestler and plays a good heel. Callihan got a good reaction from a very hot crowd.
After the match, Callihan got on the mic and said he didn't come here to lose in the first round, and since Kevin Steen has an open challenge for the PWG Title, he accepts. So, the match was made for later in the evening of Steen vs Callihan.
(4) Super Smash Bros. (Player Uno & Stupefied) beat Young Bucks in a First Round DDT4 tag tournament match. The Bucks are hated heels, and the SSB were second only to Generico for biggest pop of the night.
[Intermission]
(5) El Generico & Willie Mack beat RockNES Monsters in a Semi-Final DDT4 tag tournament match.
(6) Super Smash Bros. beat Future Shock (Adam Cole & Kyle O'Reilly) in a Semi-Final DDT4 tag tournament match. Very stiff, very good match.
(7) PWG champion Kevin Steen beat Sami Callihan to retain the PWG Title. Steen retained his title in a war that went all over the outside. Steen continues to be the most dominant wrestler in PWG and Callihan made a great showing. There was a mixed reaction at the beginning for Callihan, but by the end the crowd was firmly behind Steen.
After the match, Steen was talking up Callihan when a fan yelled, "Over-rated," in regards to Callihan. Steen did what he does best and cut a hilarious promo on the fan. Steen ad-libbing is when he is at his best. Steen told Callihan that "they both should go back East and conquer their promotions and then come back and meet again in the best promotion in the world for the title."
(8) Super Smash Bros. beat El Generico & Willie Mack in the Finals of the DDT4 tag tournament to become 2012 DDT4 winners. They earned a title match against PWG tag champs Steen & Super Dragon when Dragon is recovered from his fractured heel.
