WWE Raw house show results
August 3, 2012
Jacksonville, Fla.
Report by Jake Yorks, PWTorch reader

The night started off with Brodus Clay and his dancers coming out.

(1) Brodus Clay beat Heath Slater. Of course, there was dancing with the kids afterwards.

(2) WWE tag champions R-Truth & Kofi Kingston beat Prime Time Players (Titus O'Neil & Darren Young w/A.W.) to retain the WWE Tag Titles. I noticed A.W. was much, much more quiet than last Monday after the "crude humor incident." The match ended up with the Prime Time Players actually stealing the win and gaining the titles, but A.J. appeared for the first time in the night and reversed the decision, continuing the match with Kofi and R-Truth winning.

(3) Dean Ambrose beat Alex Riley. Riley faced a guy who I didn't recognize by name (identified by PWTorch reader Jason F. as Ambrose). He came out talking about how everybody came to see him. Very boring match, though they did put on a clinic, in my opinion. A lot of people just didn't know who they were.

Next was Punk vs. Bryan in a "Fan's Choice" match voted for through text message. It was either 2/3 Falls or Street Fight. Daniel Bryan came out first with a "No! No! No!" t-shirt and entertained the crowd for a bit yelling "No!" and saying "Yes!" is his catchphrase that the fans aren't allowed to use. Very entertaining watching the fan reaction to this bit. Punk came out next. During ring introductions by Justin Roberts, Punk interrupted Justin after being announced from Chicago and whispered in his ear. Justin then announced Punk as "now residing in Jacksonville, Florida." A.J. then came out and said she enjoys watching them beat each other up in the ring and announced Street Fight won the vote.

(4) WWE champion C.M. Punk beat Daniel Bryan in a Street Fight to retain the WWE Title. A kendo stick and chair were used in this match. Overall, a very long, but somewhat entertaining match. Punk won with the GTS.

(5) Divas champion Layla beat Alicia Fox to retain the Divas Title.

(6) U.S. champion Santino beat Jack Swagger with the Cobra to retain the U.S. Title.

(7) Chris Jericho & Zack Ryder beat IC champion The Miz & Dolph Ziggler. Comedy in the beginning and a very funny match. Miz joked with the crowd before taking his shirt off, taking it half-way off and back down. Ziggler handed the MITB briefcase to Miz, who jokingly ran it to the ref as if he were cashing it in. Ziggler then took his shirt off while on the top rope. They acted as if they were getting ready to throw their shirts to crowd and get them excited, only to end up throwing their shirts on the ground with. Jericho then got on the mic and joked how awesome it is that they're taking their shirts off, but says there's all these dots of slime in the ring that leads to Dolph Ziggler's hair. Jericho started a "Greaseball" chant, which continued until he handed the mic back to Justin Roberts. In the end, Jericho won the match for his team with the Codebreaker. Also, there was a hilarious spot where Ziggler did his headstand during a mathold on Ryder, so Jericho simply walked into the ring, threw Ziggler's legs down, and walked right back to his corner.

(8) John Cena beat Big Show in a steel cage match. The cage was set up by the crew and referees. This was similar to their other cage matches with Cena winning via Attitude Adjustment. He received the biggest pop of the night, of course.

Overall, a great three-hour house show and the crowd was very engaged. During the intermission, fans could text or tweet using #WWEJACKSONVILLE and have a message displayed on the screen. Some of that stuff was very funny. The same was done while the crew and refs set up the cage for the main event. They do have plenty of time, though, with three hours, but, man, did it drag sometimes! Overall, the crowd loved all the big names and enjoyed Chris Jericho. Daniel Bryan and C.M. Punk were both cheered for, Miz was cheered for, and the wrestlers definitely catered to the crowd.

Biggest Pops: Cena, Punk, Jericho, Kofi.
Biggest Heat: Big Show, PTPers, Miz/Ziggler.
