ETC. News: Nick Bollea could face 15 years in state prison if his comatose passenger dies Aug 29, 2007 - 10:11:00 PM
On Greta Van Sustern's "On the Record" program on Fox News tonight, she reported on the Nick Bollea high-speed car wreck. She interviewed US News reporter Ken Baker. Baker reported:
-Nick was racing a Dodge Viper, likely racing or showing off.
-Police are not commenting at all on the crash, saying they are in the midst of an investigation.
-Nick's passenger John Graziano was a Marine, just back from his second tour of duty in Iraq. He is in the hospital reportedly in a coma. A family member told a newspaper he has brain damage. He heard his condition is "touch and go."
-If the passenger dies, Nick could be charged with vehicular manslaughter, facing a potential of 15 years in state prison. Nick is 17 years old.
-The fact that Nick had four other speed violations in the last year, barely over one year after getting his license. Two of the violations were driving over 100 MPH in a 70. He hasn't even gone to court for one of his violations yet.
