Torch Indy Weekend Preview: Danielson, Super Dragon out; Shelley in, for PWG huge tourney

By Chris Vetter, Torch Contributor

Torch Indy Reporter Chris Vetter travels thousands of miles each year to see dozens of indy shows all over the Midwest. His reports covering the entire U.S. Indy Scene are usually published exclusively here at PWTorch.com every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

WEEKEND PREVIEW, NEWS & NOTES

Undoubtedly, the biggest indy event of the year on the West Coast is the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla “Battle of Los Angeles.” The three-day, 24-man elimination tournament kicks off today and runs through Sunday. In some MAJOR indy news, Alex Shelley has been added to the lineup this week, as both Bryan Danielson and Super Dragon have withdrawn. This is major news because PWG was told earlier this year they would not have access to TNA talent anymore. Hopefully this is a sign that more TNA talent will make their way back to PWG in the future. SO, I’ve updated the lineups below.

No indy shows for me this weekend. I’ve finished watching CZW’s “Best of the Best 7” and an NIW DVD, and those reviews will be written some time next week. I’m currently wrapping up an AAW DVD from March, and that also will be written some time soon.

And you can always reach me with your indy results at chrisjvetter@hotmail.com. I request that you remember to say date, location (including building, city & state!), and full name of the promotion.
