Torch Indy Reporter Chris Vetter travels thousands of miles each year to see dozens of indy shows all over the Midwest. His reports covering the entire U.S. Indy Scene are usually published exclusively here at PWTorch.com every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

WEEKEND PREVIEW, NEWS & NOTES

I attended the ROH show Saturday in Chicago, and that report is now posted online. The quick summary is: the PPV was really good, with the shocking return of the Necro Butcher and a bloody ending that was a great visual. Some of the shorter matches in the second half of the show was a bit lacking. Results are below.

In Philadelphia, Pro Wrestling Unplugged drew a crowd of about 700 fans for its “third anniversary show” that featured an appearance by Diamond Dallas Page and wrestling featuring Too Cold Scorpio defeating Joey Matthews in the main event. The PWU message board describes the final segment this way: A ref bump happened. Dan Severn came out and took Scorpio down with a UFC-style choke out. Diamond Dallas Page, who was doing commentary, got up and laid out Severn and Joey Matthews with Diamond Cutters. The heel Devon Moore came out and cleared the ring. The lights went out. When they came back on, Sandman was standing in the ring with a cane, and he chased off Moore. Scorpio, Sandman and Tod Gordon celebrated in the ring, and Sandman told the crowd that “it’s good to be home.” Results are below.

In CZW, Brain Damage won the hardcore tournament. Results are below. For death match fans, this was probably a good show, but I have zero interest in it.

And you can always reach me with your indy results at chrisjvetter@hotmail.com. I request that you remember to say date, location (including building, city & state!), and full name of the promotion.
