Torch Indy Weekend Report: Kidman, Scotty 2 Hotty, Castagnoli, IWA TPI news

By Chris Vetter
Torch Indy Reporter Chris Vetter travels thousands of miles each year to see dozens of indy shows all over the Midwest. His reports covering the entire U.S. Indy Scene are usually published exclusively here at PWTorch.com every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
WEEKEND RESULTS, NEWS & NOTES
I have the results of the big shows over the weekend below, as Chikara Pro had a good lineup in Philadelphia that featured a big 16-man tag match, while Billy Kidman debuted for NWA Midwest in suburban Chicago.
Scotty 2 Hotty wrestled both Friday and Saturday for Mercury 1 Wrestling in northeast Wisconsin, and I have results of both of those shows below as well.
In other news…
In some TERRIBLE news, UWA Hardcore has lost the use of its building in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. This is a huge blow for that promotion, and all of its remaining shows are canceled. It's unclear if UWA will close or look for a new venue. Check out www.uwahardcore.com. This news saddens me, as I've heavily hyped some of their DVD releases.
IWA Mid-South has announced FOUR cancellations for the TPI tournament this weekend, as Matt Sydal, El Generico, B-Boy, and Tony Kozina have all canceled for a variety of reasons. With Low Ki, Samoa Joe and Alex Shelley already off the 24-man tournament, this lineup is really looking weak now (as the replacements feature guys like Dysfunction, Nate Webb and CJ Otis). The full first-round matchups are below.
AWA RUSH in southern Minnesota has announced it is closing down with its final show on Oct. 12. This leaves very, very few wrestling options in Minnesota. It makes me sad, as I simply have few local options to see indy wrestling.
And you can always reach me with your indy results at chrisjvetter@hotmail.com. I request that you remember to say date, location (including building, city & state!), and full name of the promotion.
