ETC. News: Nick Hogan's driver's license suspended for one year starting next month (meaning he's still driving!) Nov 26, 2007 - 7:25:07 PM
Nick Hogan's driver's license will be suspended for one year starting Dec. 10 (meaning he currently has a valid driver's license and may be on a road near you and your children or dog). He is also being fined an undisclosed amount. A spokeswoman for the Florida Dept. of Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles told the Tampa Tribune that he's been deemed "dangerous to the general public on the road" (but safe enough to still drive for another two weeks, apparently).
The lawyer of the mother of Nick's passenger, John Graziano, tells the Tribune that he remains in critical condition at the Tampa James A Haley VA edical Center
WK: If the government deems someone dangerous to public safety, and you get hit by him driving recklessly between now and Dec. 10, is the government of Florida in part culpable? Isn't this a bit like suspending someone's gun license after he shot someone in the head through careless handling of his gun, but the suspension isn't effective for two weeks? Or a restaurant has food that's poisoning people, so they decide to pull their restaurant license in two weeks, allowing them to serve customers in the mean time? Just seems strange to me.
