By Chris Vetter

Torch Indy Reporter Chris Vetter travels thousands of miles each year to see dozens of indy shows all over the Midwest. His reports covering the entire U.S. Indy Scene are usually published exclusively here at PWTorch.com every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

WEEKEND RESULTS, NEWS & NOTES

As I noted before… this is a VERY slow time of the year for indy wrestling. Thus… my reports will be sparse for the rest of the year, until we kick into high gear in mid-January.

In suburban Chicago, AAW tag champions Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin retained their belts, and Jerry Lynn retained the heavyweight title over Tyler Black. Results of this stacked show are below, and learn more at www.aawrestling.com. I’m told that the crowd was down a bit because of snow that has just hammered the Midwest this month. (It hurt the ROH draw two weeks earlier as well.)

B-Boy has suffered an injury, and will thus not be able to wrestle his final match for PWG in early January.

Coastal Championship Wrestling in Coral Springs, Fla., on Friday included Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka winning a squash, plus a special appearance from MVP, who brought his U.S. title belt to the show. Also on the show were Dustin Rhodes and Gangrel.

Chikara Pro typically takes off January, but the promotion has added a show on Jan. 27. Check out www.chikarapro.com for more details.

A reminder that FIP has canceled its January shows, and won’t be back in action until Feb. 16. Learn more at www.fullimpactpro.com.

CWA out of Columbia, S.C., has announced it will bring in Sid Vicious for its show on Feb. 8.

And you can always reach me with your indy results at chrisjvetter@hotmail.com. I request that you remember to say date, location (including building, city & state!), and full name of the promotion.
