Torch Indy Reporter Chris Vetter travels thousands of miles each year to see dozens of indy shows all over the Midwest. His reports covering the entire U.S. Indy Scene are usually published exclusively here at PWTorch.com every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

WEEKEND PREVIEW, NEWS & NOTES

Hard to believe… but it’s been nearly four MONTHS since IWA Mid-South held its prior show. I was admittedly doubtful if the promotion would continue running. A poorly-booked and even poorer-attended tag tournament last May left the promotion scrambling for cash. They owe some TNA talent a lot of money. The heavily promoted Samoa Joe vs. Low Ki match promised for September never materialized.

So, I’m surprised, and a bit upbeat, about IWA-Mid South presenting its big “500th show” on Saturday. The lineup is decent, featuring Too Cold Scorpio vs. Eddie Kingston, and as I noted, this show has been “months in the making.” Check out the full lineup, featuring Human Tornado, Roderick Strong, Davey Richards and Ricky Reyes, below.

There is another huge show this weekend – the three-day Chikara Pro “Trios tournament” kicks off tonight and wraps up Sunday! The lineup tonight features Mike Quackenbush, Delirious, and Kingston. It appears that a lot of the wrestlers on the lineup tonight plan to be in IWA-MS on Saturday. Visit www.chikarapro.com to learn more.

I will be headed about 60 miles south, to Black River Falls, Wis., to see a show featuring Jerry Lynn, Austin Aries and Lacey. Unfortunately, Aries and Lynn will not be wrestling each other! I admittedly don’t know a lot of the guys on this card, so I’ll be seeing some new talent.

Steel Domain Wrestling used to be a dominant indy promotion in the Twin Cities. Nowadays, it typically runs one big show a year, and that is this Saturday, in Brookings, S.D. The lineup is stacked, with A.J. Styles vs. Christian Cage, James Storm vs. Jay Lethal, Abyss vs. Kip James.

And you can always reach me with your indy results at chrisjvetter@hotmail.com. I request that you remember to say date, location (including building, city & state!), and full name of the promotion.

WEEKEND RESULTS

Nothing new to report.
