WEEKEND PREVIEW, NEWS & NOTES
Welcome back! There are a couple of big indy shows to talk about this weekend.
First and foremost is the International Wrestling Cartel, “the Super Indy” tournament tonight in Elizabeth, Penn., with first-round matches of Hentai vs. Ricky Reyes, Davey Richards vs. Troy Lords, Altar Boy Luke vs. Shiima Xion, Jerry Lynn vs. Jason Gory. In non-tournament action, matches will feature Sandman, Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley, Amazing Kong and Delirious. It’s a loaded show!
Saturday, Full Impact Pro returns to its base in Crystal River, Fla., with a lineup that includes Nigel McGuinness, Roderick Strong, Jay Briscoe, Austin Aries, Delirious and Tyler Black. Learn more at www.fullimpactpro.com.
Also on Saturday is the next Shimmer Women’s Athletes taping in Berwyn, Ill. It speaks VOLUMES about how great these shows are that this event is already SOLD OUT, and has been for more than a month. Promoter Dave Prazak stresses athleticism and wrestling, not WWE-style diva silliness, and the quality of action has definitely caught on. Volumes 15 & 16 will be for sale at the show on Saturday. Learn more at www.shimmerwrestling.com.
IWS is back in action on Saturday in Montreal, Quebec, with Kevin Steen and El Generico in action.
And you can always reach me with your indy results at chrisjvetter@hotmail.com. I request that you remember to say date, location (including building, city & state!), and full name of the promotion.
