By Chris Vetter, torch contributor

Torch Indy Reporter Chris Vetter sees dozens of indy shows all over the Midwest, and regularly watches & reviews indy DVDs. His reports covering the entire U.S. Indy Scene are usually published exclusively here at PWTorch.com every Monday and Friday.

WEEKEND RESULTS, NEWS & NOTES

In AAW in suburban Chicago, Tyler Black defeated Jerry Lynn to capture the heavyweight title. Eric Priest, who has wrestled for perhaps 10 years, including a few jobber spots in WWE, lost in a last-man-standing match to end his wrestling career. Priest came from the same camp as CM Punk, Colt Cabana and others, and he was always a talented individual, and he will be missed in the Midwest wrestling scene. This is what the AAW webpage had to say: After the match a bloody and emotional Eric Priest bought his wife into the ring and thanked her for all the weekends he was gone. He then thanked everyone in AAW and all the fans as his professional wrestling career came to an end.

The team of Delirious & Hallowicked were winners in the main event of the Chikara Pro show on Sunday in the former ECW Arena in Philadelphia, Penn. Also on the show were Claudio Castagnoli and Mike Quackenbush. Results are below. Learn more at www.chikarapro.com.

In other news…

Former WWE wrestler Doug Basham is competing this weekend for IPW: UK in Bromley, Kent, England, when he faces Martin Stone for the IPW:UK title.

Twin Cities native “ODB” Jessica Dalton will return to F1rst Wrestling in Minneapolis on Aug. 8, along with ROH standout Tyler Black. I’ve posted the full lineup of that show below, and it looks like another standout card.

And you can always reach me with your indy results at chrisjvetter@hotmail.com. I request that you remember to say date, location (including building, city & state!), and full name of the promotion.
