Torch Indy Weekend Preview: Tyler Black, ODB, Jacobs, Demolition, Greg Valentine
Aug 8, 2008 - 3:51:30 PM

By Chris Vetter, torch contributor

Torch Indy Reporter Chris Vetter sees dozens of indy shows all over the Midwest, and regularly watches & reviews indy DVDs. His reports covering the entire U.S. Indy Scene are usually published exclusively here at PWTorch.com every Monday and Friday.

WEEKEND PREVIEW, NEWS & NOTES

This has been a slow week in indy wrestling, as many of the big promotions have taken this weekend off.

AAW returns to action Saturday in the Chicago area with Berwyn, Ill., at the Eagles Club, with Tyler Black vs. Josh (Abercrombie) Raymond, Keith Walker vs. “Skullkrusher” Rasche Brown, Jimmy Jacobs vs. Silas Young. Looks like a solid lineup.

IAW Wrestling on Saturday in South Bend, Ind., features Demolition vs. Greg “the Hammer Valentine & Brian the Crippler.

I will be heading to the big F1rst Wrestling show tonight in Minneapolis, with the return of ODB and ROH star Tyler Black. F1rst Wrestling consistently puts on the best ROH-style shows in Minnesota, and I’m hoping for a good turnout!

In other news…

IWA Mid-South has now announced 21 of the 24 wrestlers for the big annual “Ted Petty Invitational” at the end of September. The biggest names are former WWE wrestlers Dave Daylor and Too Cold Scorpio. The latest additions include former Shimmer champion Sara Del Rey, along with Claudio Castagnoli, B.J. Whitmer, Ace Steel, Josh Raymond and Arik Cannon.

And you can always reach me with your indy results at chrisjvetter@hotmail.com. I request that you remember to say date, location (including building, city & state!), and full name of the promotion.
