Following the death of Verne Gagne's roommate at an assisted living facility in Minnesota, both families are coping. Local police have investigated the incident and plan to forward the case to prosecutors to possibly file charges, reports the AP.

Gagne reportedly threw his roommate, Helmut Gutmann, to the ground, which led to his death a few weeks later. Gagne suffers from severe dementia and does not remember the incident. AP reports that Gutmann did not remember the incident prior to his death, either.

Gagne's son, pro wrestling trainer Greg Gagne, told the AP that it's been difficult on both families.

"His short-term memory is not there," Greg Gagne said. "But we were up there the other day, and if you talk about his first-grade teacher he can discuss that."

Betty Gutmann, the widow of Helmut, said there was an eye-witness account from facility staff that Gagne threw his roommate to the ground. It was the second scuffle between the two, but Gutmann was not hurt during the first incident.

Betty tells the AP that she is not blaming Gagne. She said the dementia prevented Gagne from recognizing what he was doing.
