ROH News: Danielson-Morishima signed for next PPV taping (w/Radican Analysis), matches and lineups for upcoming events Nov 23, 2007 - 4:22:45 PM
-ROH announced Bryan Danielson vs. Takeshi Morishima for the PPV taping on Dec. 29 in Manhattan, N.Y.
RADICAN ANALYSIS: The Danielson-Morishima feud has the potential to become a classic feud in ROH if Danielson can carry it with some good mic work to compliment what has already been a heated rivalry in the ring. It's a shame this match won't air for several months in the US, but fans can enjoy their MOTYC from Manhattan Mayhem 2 and their second match is set to air shortly on PPV. I'm personally excited to see how this feud plays out, as Morishima has developed rapidly in recent months as a performer.
-The winner of the Nigel McGuinness vs. Austin Aries match on Dec. 29 will put the ROH World Title on the line in Four Man Elimination match on Dec 30. Already signed for this match is Chris Hero. Also signed for this event is ROH World Tag Team Champions The Briscoes vs. The Age of the Fall (Jimmy Jacobs & Tyler Black).
RADICAN ANALYSIS: The Dec. 30 card is shaping up to be strong, although I expected a strong card, as "Final Battle" is usually earmarked as one of ROH's biggest DVD tapings of the year. The Briscoes-Age of the Fall rivalry has been one of the main storylines on recent DVD releases, although I haven't seen any of their interactions as of yet. The Four Man Elimination World Title match could also be strong. The last time ROH did this match, Sapolsky had set up three strong challengers to C.M. Punk's title. If Sapolsky can duplicate that feat, this could be a match that ROH fans seek out on DVD. The previous match of this type, which took place at "Redemption" in 2005 is one of my favorite ROH matches, as James Gibson was built up strong and his emotional title win was a great moment in ROH in 2005.
-Daniel Puder will be a special guest for the Dec. 29 and Dec.30 events in Manhattan, N.Y.
-ROH's "Man Up" PPV debuts on Indemand, The Dish Network, and TVN cable on Nov. 30.
-ROH has announced the first talent roster for Jan. 11 in Boston, Mass. and Jan. 12 in Edison, NJ. Already signed to appear on these events are ROH World Tag Team Champions Jay & Mark Briscoe, Bryan Danielson, FIP World Heavyweight Champion Roderick Strong, Davey Richards, Rocky Romero, Claudio Castagnoli, Jimmy Jacobs, The Necro Butcher, Tyler Black, Lacey, Chris Hero, Larry Sweeney, SHIMMER Champion Sara Del Rey, Bobby Dempsey, Brent Albright, B.J. Whitmer, Shane Hagadorn, Jack Evans, Ruckus, Jigsaw, Julius Smokes; Kevin Steen, Erick Stevens, Sal Rinauro, Kenny King, Jason Blade, and Chasyn Rance.
-Matches already signed for the Dec. 1 event in Chicago Ridge, Ill include Bryan Danielson vs, Delirious, Austin Aries vs. Erick Stevens, and Shane Hagadorn vs. Human Tornado vs. Silas Young vs. Seth Skyfire in a Four Corner Survival match. First round matches for "Trios Tournament 2007 (ROH World Tag Team Champions Jay & Mark Briscoe & Claudio Castagnoli vs. Chris Hero & Tank Toland & Bobby Dempsey, Jimmy Jacobs & Tyler Black & The Necro Butcher vs. Jack Evans & Ruckus & Jigsaw, and Roderick Strong & Davey Richards & Rocky Romero vs. Adam Pearce & Brent Albright, & B.J. Whitmer). The winners of the first round matches will advance to a 9-Man, 3-Team Scramble match to determine the winner of the tournament.
