ROH released a poster on its Facebook page announcing that ROH World Tag Team Champions The Briscoes would face a team from CHIKARA in a Proving Ground match on Jan. 20.

A short time later, the company also announced two new live events would take place on April 27 in Dayton, Ohio and April 28 in Chicago Ridge, Ill. ROH's April 28 live event in Chicago will run head-to-head in the same market with a CHIKARA live event that was previously announced.

Radican's Analysis: I was thrilled to see ROH working with CHIKARA. If anything, ROH should take the reigns and work with other independent promotions to provide a unique element to their live event/DVD taping schedule by bringing in other talent to work with various wrestlers and teams on the ROH roster. ROH has a full schedule during the first quarter of 2012 and one way to make some of the house shows stand up and garner attention from fans old and new alike is to make the shows worth going out of your way to see live and/or purchase on DVD.

CHIKARA management announced they were running in Chicago on April 28 a long time ago, so the company can't be happy that ROH has gone ahead and announced they are running Chicago on the same date. I can't see a compromise that would benefit both companies at this point even if they were to run their respective shows at different times.

CHIKARA has slowly been building new markets during the last few years and it will definitely hurt the promotion to have ROH running in Chicago on the same down. I'm also interested to see if the two companies work together beyond the Jan. 20 event in Philadelphia given ROH's careless announcement to run on the same day as CHIKARA in the same market.
