TNA News: TNA Impact rating are in - was there a dropoff after Sting-Angle last week? (w/Keller's Analysis) Nov 2, 2007 - 9:36:14 PM
TNA held its audience from last week steady at 1.0 with the same 1.3 million viewers.
Keller's Analysis: After last week's disappointing 1.0 rating for the Sting vs. Kurt Angle mega-main event, Impact held steady this week with a more run of the mill show headlined with a solid tag team title match main event featuring four wrestlers of whom only one has any WWE TV exposure (and none with any 1997 Monday Night War TV exposure). How is that possible? This show remains four well-booked weeks away from taking off in the ratings department with the talent, timeslot, station, and production values, but that means booking in a less dense fashion, building up two centerpiece matches per show a couple programs ahead of time, and changing the tenor from cheesy, sleazy, and nostalgic to more cutting-edge, athletic, and "new era" (those three adjectives can mean a lot of things, but no approach or philosophy will work as well as one encompassing those elements given their current talent roster).
