TNA News: Christian a target of Dixie Carter's meeting offering wrestlers their release Dec 7, 2007 - 1:56:10 PM
PWTorch reported Monday afternoon of an all-talent meeting held that day by TNA at the site of the TNA taping that afternoon. Dixie Carter, flanked by a stack of everyone's contract at the meeting table, offered any wrestlers who weren't happy in TNA with their current deals to get out of their deals on the spot. Senshi was the only wrestler to accept the offer; he had been unhappy for a while for a variety of reasons and was among those dragging down locker room morale.

The PWTorch Newsletter #1001 this week reported that Christian was among the wrestlers who were the target of that meeting by Carter. TNA did not want him to leave, but sources say they wanted to quiet his complaints by taking away a phrase all promoters tire of hearing - which is that the grass is greener elsewhere and they have an offer waiting for them anytime. Christian did not accept the offer, and there were some smiles among management that it proved it's not as bad as Christian has grumbled recently. He's been upset with certain creative decisions recently and has been more expressive than he was a year ago.
Keller Analysis: It has been brought to my attention by someone in TNA that other sites that "rephrase" news from this website have reported that the meeting was held primarily to show up Christian. That is not the case, and it is not what we originally reported. Christian was just the most prominent name among many wrestlers who had been setting a tone that management grew tired of, but Christian is not even close to the top complainer in the locker room. He is the one, because of his experience and position within the company, to make the biggest difference in setting a positive or negative tone. TNA management felt empowered by the positive attitudes of Kurt Angle and Booker T to make it clear to everyone else they want the atmosphere to be better than some wrestlers tend to make it. I'm not making a judgment on whether Christian's complaints were valid, as there's a possibility I'd agree with him quite a bit; I'm just making clear that he was a reason, but not the primary reason, for the Carter all-talent meeting.
I'll take this instance to let everyone know reading this that news reported elsewhere that is credited to PWTorch is often rewritten in a way that does, probably unintentionally on the part of the re-writer, change the story to being somewhat or even very inaccurate. So just because an item is credited elsewhere to PWTorch.com does not mean it's a fair or accurate representation of our original report, which often is sourced from a VIP Daily Keller Hotline or the PWTorch Newsletter, which are exclusively part of the members' area.
