TNA Impact Ratings: Ratings for Samoa Joe vs. Kurt Angle rematch are in (w/Keller Reax) Apr 25, 2008 - 4:10:19 PM
TNA Impact last night drew a 1.0 rating, the same as last week and the week before, which was down from the 1.1 three weeks ago.
As usual, the rating started a 0.98 and then dropped afterward. This week it dropped every single quarter hour in that opening hour, from a 0.98 to a 0.86 by the end of the hour.
On the only bright note of this week's disappointing ratings, the second hour jumped to a 1.04 and grew in the final 30 minutes to a 1.11 and 1.12 rating for the main event.
Compared to The Ultimate Fighter the night before on Spike TV, which drew a 1.00 rating also, the first quarter drew a 0.94, then it dropped in Q2, but increased to a 1.00 and 1.06 in the final 30 minutes. In the key M18-49 demo, Impact drew a 0.74 rating, well below TUF's M18-49 demo of 1.25. Also, in the key M18-34 demo, Impact averaged a 0.74 also, whereas TUF drew a 1.49. Spike's no. 1 demo they look at is M18-34, and TUF with the same viewership total doubled Impact's rating in that key demo.
KELLER'S ANALYSIS TNA Impact should be drawing better than this with the type of match-ups and star-power now being offered. I will once again point to the booking philosophy and execution as the top reason for the lack of growth with everything else working in its favor at this time.
