TNA Impact Ratings: Loaded main event leads to another slight ratings increase (w/Keller Analysis) Jul 28, 2008 - 11:57:31 AM
TNA Impact ratings crawled another step up last week, July 24, with a 1.11 rating, up from the previous week's 1.05 rating, which was up from a 1.02 the week before that.
The July 24 show opened with a 1.11 rating, and then dropped to the 1.04-1.06 range the rest of hour one. In hour two, it rebounded and grew from a 1.14 to a 1.19 during Taylor Wilde's two title defenses. It dropped to a 1.11 for the start of the main event featuring Team 3D & Kurt Angle vs. A.J. Styles & Rhino & Christian Cage, although that drop can be attributed to two commercial breaks in that quarter. It then peaked for Q8 with a 1.17.
KELLER'S ANALYSIS: TNA hyped this show last week effectively. They announced matches and angles ahead of time and touted it as one of the bigger Impacts ever. It worked on a small, but noteable level, with a ratings increase, although viewership still rounded to 1.5 million both weeks.
