TNA News: Ratings up a bit with three segments dedicated to TNA Knockouts pageant, Sting-Joe another focus (w/Keller Analysis) Sep 13, 2008 - 2:04:34 PM
TNA drew a respectable, typical 1.1 rating last night and a total average audience of 1.5 million viewers.
From a quarter hour standpoint, they opened up with a 1.03 and it dropped from there to a 0.97 in Q3 during a stretch of programming consisting of Abyss vs. Christian Cage and Karen's Angle (which has performed consistently poorly as a ratings draw; sitdown interviews turn off a certain percentage of viewers). The final segment of hour one drew to 1.05 featuring both another Beauty Pageant segment and the start of Roxxi vs. Awesome Kong.
At the start of the second hour, the rating grew and continued to grow for 15 minutes to a peak of 1.26. Each of the first thre quarters of hour two contained Knockouts. Then, come Q8, for the end of the main event featuring top paid main eventers Booker T and Kurt Angle (each of whom likely earn twice as much as the entire Knockouts Division combined) against Abyss & Matt Morgan, plus the Sting promo led to a drop to 1.12 to close out the show.
Keller's Analysis: Another win for the Knockouts Division. They're not popping huge ratings, but percentage-wise they are consistently - to an uncanny degree - outdrawing the men, who almost never pop a bigger than average ratings. Even spread out over four or five segments, their segments increased audience levels.
