A.J. Styles says TNA keeps him out of the loop on what he'll be doing from week to week on each Impact, which he believes is TNA's way of preventing leaks to the wrestling media on the direction of future storylines.

"They don't come out and tell us everything that's gonna happen," Styles told Crave Online backstage at a recent TNA house show. "I don't know if they just want to keep it off the Internet or whatever. I'm sure people always find ways of picking up on it but it always changes and there always can be change."

Does TNA's policy affect Styles? "I don't think they really bother letting us know exactly what happens to an extent but whatever, I trust these guys so it's good," he said. "I think it's a good thing."

Styles says TNA keeps it professional by not springing anything last-second on wrestlers while they're in the ring, as the expectations for their performances come together prior to them stepping into the ring.

Samoa Joe was also interviewed by Crave about the recently released TNA video game. Joe says the ultimate goal of the first TNA Impact video game release was to make it easy to play with a fast engine. "With motion capture and what they do, they (Midway Games) did a tremendous job recreating like you said the physicality you see in the TNA ring," Joe said.

Caldwell's Analysis: Styles describing TNA's week-to-week approach sounds familiar to WCW, when Nitro would sometimes go live on Monday nights without a script even finalized. If TNA is merely keeping wrestlers out of the dark to keep storylines out of the hands of the wrestling media, then it's an antiquated policy. If it's because they don't believe in long-term planning or booking four-to-twelve months in advance, then it's a problem.

Evidence supports the second theory, as TNA suddenly dove into a Main Event Mafia vs. Young Lions storyline without re-building any of the "Young Lions" who hooked up with Joe and Styles in the TV storyline. The likes of Eric Young, Jay Lethal, and the Machineguns had been stuck in mid-card filler segments and storylines for months without a serious push, yet now TNA expects viewers to suddenly buy into them as credible threats to the likes of Nash, Sting, and Angle.
