On the recently released Kurt Angle DVD from TNA, Angle discusses his drive to succeed, motivation, and strong work ethic that was significantly influenced by his family.

Angle's account can be applied to his self-admitted reckless behavior in the past, including wrestling with a broken neck and wrestling in a WWE ring while high on pain pills. Being at work, though, is in Angle's blood no matter the cost.

"My dad took a lot of pride in his work. He did it for 34 years and he would have done it until the day he died and that's what he did, you know? He died on the job," Angle says while overlooking the Pittsburgh skyline featuring many of the buildings his father worked on. "I guess that's kind of the way my whole family is, you know?"

Angle says he will continue that philosophy on life and work to carry on his father's principles. In the past, Angle has pushed his body to the limit, but he's still blessed to be wrestling in TNA.

"We just go and go and go until we can't go anymore," he says. "That's how I've always lived my life, the way my dad did. That same philosophy."

Caldwell's Analysis: We've always known Angle to be a very driven person who will stop short of nothing to be successful, which he obviously got from his father. At times in Angle's career, this has led to an unhealthy lifestyle, especially when he was in WWE pushing himself too hard with the "help" of pain pills.

Angle seems to fit the mold of "old school" wrestlers who are not afraid to die in the ring because it's the only place they know to be home or where their greatest successes have been achieved. It would certainly behoove TNA to continue monitoring Angle as they vowed to do when he first joined the company two years ago. Angle's comments on the DVD, such as this one, should not be taken lightly.
