TNA star Mick Foley specifically named Motor City Machineguns, Samoa Joe, and A.J. Styles as the top younger stars in TNA that he looks forward to watching in the ring.

Foley says he has to remind himself the younger wrestlers have been in wrestling for a while, but haven't received mainstream exposure like many of the Main Event Mafia-level stars in TNA.

"The Machine Guns would be two of (my favorites)," Foley told the Daily Comet (La.) to promote next weekend's Louisiana house show tour. "Although they've been at it a while, sometimes we look at guys as being younger guys even though they've been at it ten years, only cause they haven't gotten mainstream exposure."

Foley says the passion from the younger stars makes them exciting to watch. He equates it to Kurt Angle, who can sometimes be too passionate in Foley's eyes.

"Kurt Angle is a guy who's unbelievable. Maybe he's too passionate. Cause he's the guy who wants to put on the best show he can every night," Foley said. "There's a tag team called the Motor City Machineguns who are like that as well. ... Most of the guys in TNA have that feeling. They still honestly believe that every match is their most important match."

Foley was asked by a reader if he has any regrets about the abuse he put his body through earlier in his career. Foley said he wishes he would have pulled back when he was breaking into wrestling.

"There are times when I wish I had taken it a little bit easier on the small shows, you know all around the South when I was getting my first full-time experience," Foley said. "There maybe wasn't a need to fly on the concrete quite so much in front of small crowds every single night."

Foley says he might regret some of those decisions, but he says that helped him become a star in wrestling.

"With that being said, it was kind of that style and that willingness to do my best every night, that kind of made me who I was," Foley said. "One thing I did realize from the beginning (was) that there'd be a price to pay and looking at it now, despite the fact that I move around a little bit slower and that everything hurts a little bit, I never felt like the price that I paid was too much for what I've been given."

Caldwell's Analysis: Very refreshing interview from one of the top stars in TNA. Typically, the top stars will promote themselves or talk about their past or say they enjoy watching the X Division wrestlers because they do a bunch of flips and stuff. This time, Foley actually went specific on why he enjoys watching the younger stars in the company. Good to see that from a top star still recognizing the "Frontline" wrestlers.
