TNA owner Jeff Jarrett says Kurt Angle is physically hurting after numerous injuries, but he respects Angle's ability to perform at a higher level than the vast majority of the TNA roster.

"To me, he doesn't have any peers, even though he is broken down in some aspects," Jarrett told Alfonso Castillo of Newsday. "You know, he's just had a lot of injuries. But on his worst day, he's still better than 95 percent of all the wrestlers. He's nothing short of incredible."

Without mentioning Angle by name, Jarrett says he was approached by several veterans suggesting he return to the ring. His first opponent back was Kurt Angle at the Bound For Glory PPV in October. Jarrett says that prior to the match, he wasn't sure if he made the right decision.

"So, I sort of thought to myself when I was standing backstage before I went out in Chicago, 'Man, what the hell? Did I bite off more than I can chew?' But I've been very happy so far, and I guess you could say I'm back in the swing of things," Jarrett said.

Jarrett says the veterans in the locker room persuaded him to return to teach the younger stars. TNA storylines have also focused on this similar idea and perception that the younger stars need help in the ring.

"The only way the younger guys are going to learn is if the older guys sit them down and, not cuss them out, but say, 'Hey, this is how you do it. This is how you do it,'" Jarrett said. "Even if the young kid doesn't listen, you've got to go back to the well and teach him again, just like you do young kids."
