Following are some of the top stories in TNA from the past few days that we have been covering with news on Christopher Daniels, Jeff Jarrett, Taz and Don West's announcer switch, TNA Impact ratings, and a potential PPV formula shake-up.

Christopher Daniels drunk-driving arrest (Monday night)

TNA wrestler Christopher Daniels was arrested on drunk driving charges in North Carolina on Friday after he was pulled over for a traffic violation. Daniels took a breathalyzer test and reportedly had a 0.14 blood alcohol level. The legal limit in N.C. is 0.08.

Daniels appeared to have been involved in a drinking contest with WWE wrestler Gregory Helms before he was arrested. He was arrested on South Brightleaf Boulevard in Smithfield, N.C., which is about 4.1 miles away from Gregory Helms's home.

TNA Impact Ratings - Dixie & Lashley flop (Monday)

The August 27 episode of TNA Impact averaged a 1.13 rating, which was slightly down from the previous week's 1.17 rating. The show's ratings were dragged down by the final two segments of the show. The last half-hour averaged a 1.04 rating, which included TNA president Dixie Carter's first TV appearance with Bobby Lashley and the main event six-man tag match of A.J. Styles & Sting & Hernandez vs. the Main Event Mafia.

Dixie Carter wants PPV formula shaken up (Sunday night)

TNA president Dixie Carter says she is not a fan of the current once-a-month PPV format and she would like to see the formula shaken up. "I'm not a big fan of monthly PPVs, quite honestly, but you have contracts that keep you held in and bound at times," Carter told John Pollock of Live Audio Wrestling on Sunday night. "We're definitely talking about trying to shake things up and do things differently in the future."

Exit West, Enter Taz (Sunday night)

TNA president Dixie Carter says the company decided to insert former WWE announcer Taz into Don West's position because it was time for TNA to "try something different." Carter was very complimentary of West's work the past several months since his heel turn opposed to Mike Tenay.

"It's unusual for any announce team without some form of change for seven years," Carter told Live Audio Wrestling on Sunday night. "It was just time for us to try something different. I think Don was his absolute best work in the last several months than he ever has. He is equally as talented in his salesmanship."

Jeff Jarrett's TNA status (Thursday)

TNA wrestler/founder Jeff Jarrett is expected to be back on TNA TV "sooner rather than later," according to company president Dixie Carter. Jarrett was sent home prior to the Victory Road PPV in July after it became public knowledge that Kurt Angle's ex-wife had moved in with him.
