Hulk Hogan says Spike TV was considering October for making the Monday night switch, but Hogan says TNA wanted to make the move while they have momentum with him freshly joining the company.

Hogan says he's actually surprised TNA is already moving to Monday nights a few months into his run with TNA based on his personal perspective that he felt "overwhelmed" in January having the "Vince McMahon control" in TNA and not really knowing what he was doing.

"I really don't know what I'm doing. I've never really done this before and with me, everything is by instinct and by feel. It's taken me this long just to not be overwhelmed," Hogan told Brian Fritz at Monday's TNA press conference. "There were so many tweaks that caught me off guard because I'm just a wrestler. I'm not someone that should be running a whole wrestling company. I now have a feel for it, and now I feel comfortable and I'm really focusing."

Hogan specifically addressed production and creative challenges he's dealt with, including the infamous "missed camera shot syndrome" that has plagued TNA's live TV and PPV events over the years.

"I'm really starting to get a feel for exactly how to focus on the women's division, how to focus on certain talent, how to make production... things that I know are inherent from doing this for so long - I notice like the "hero shot" is missing or the hard camera misses things or the physicalities aren't caught at the right time. Now, academically, I have to lay it out ahead of time. It was overwhelming, but now I got it. I'm trying, brother," Hogan said, playing his self-deprecation card and pleading with wrestling fans to be patient with him.

Hogan also talked about trying to talk down wrestlers with creative ideas, with them apparently buying into what Hogan said on RVD's radio show two weeks ago about the locker room being a free-flowing creative den where everyone's ideas were welcomed.

"Barbarically speaking, I used to lace my boots up, go out to the ring, make my money, and run home. Now, the network is asking for certain things. When things become successful, you get input from people you never thought you would get input from that kind of give suggestions or almost kind of demands of what they want that may not be what's best for the wrestling, creatively," Hogan said. "All of a sudden, these monsters are coming at me and I'm learning how to politically, gracefully massage them because sometimes I wear my feelings on my sleeve."

Hogan continued: "If you let the wrestlers kind of run the show, it would be chaos. It's not difficult because I don't have a hard time looking at someone and telling them the truth. Over the years, I've told half-truths or I've avoided the truth, but I've learned after all these years that if you have something to say, say it to somebody honestly and it either fixes it, moves it forward, or ends it. Things are getting fixed really quickly around here on that creative level and on that ego level."
