-WWE Open.
-Cyber Sunday Highlights aired.
-Undertaker and Batista team up tonight to face Mark Henry and Great Khali in the main event!
-Batista came down to the ring. JBL and Michael Cole put over his win against Undertaker at Cyber Sunday. Batista sounded winded as he began his interview. He said Sunday, he accomplished something he sometimes thought he may never do: beat The Undertaker. Batista wants to know if Taker has his back. The bell rang, lights went out, and when they came back on, Undertaker was in the ring. Taker said he has Batista’s back because he’s still got the title. Batista asked if he wanted a re-match, then granted him one. Taker replied: Hell in a Cell.
[Commercial Break]
-Jamie Noble was backstage looking at WWE Magazine when Vickie Guerrero came up to him. Noble immediately started complaining and assumed he was in the Hell in a Cell match. Vickie said she was there to give him a DVD set- the Rey Mysterio DVDs. Vickie said she thought he’d want to watch it, since he’s fighting Rey tonight.
1- DOMINO vs. FESTUS
Both team’s partners accompanied the men in this one-on-one match. Festus started things off with a bodyslam and a throw out of the corner. Domino tried to return fire by jumping on the big man’s back, then raking the face. Festus fought out of a rest-hold, then Jesse took out Deuce, who was trying to distract Festus. Back in the ring, Festus hit an F-5 like maneuver to get the pinfall.
WINNER: Festus at 2:52. I guess a feud is on the horizon between these two teams.
-Batista and Undertaker face Mark Henry and Great Khali, as well as Jamie Noble vs. Rey Mysterio, and that one is next.
[Commercial Break]
-Inside the Diva Search: They showed the girls backstage before the winner was announced before Raw, then did a bit of a video package on Eve, the winner.
2- REY MYSTERIO vs. JAMIE NOBLE
Before Noble came out, Finlay made his way to the ring. The two started out with some mat wrestling. Rey hit a flying headscissors and set up for the 619 early, but Noble rolled out of the ring. Rey threw Jamie back into the ring and Noble went on offense. Noble put Rey on his shoulders and brought him down throat-first on the top rope. Noble stomped away at Rey in the corner. The crowd began to chant “619" as Noble went to his ground-and-pound offense (as JBL would say). Noble worked the right arm of Mysterio. Noble put Rey in a front face-lock and tried a pin in an interesting combination. Rey went for another headscissors but this time, brought Noble down in an arm-bar. Noble missed a shoulder charge in the corner and Rey hit a springboard cross-body for two. Rey hit the seated senton, but Noble countered with a scoop slam for a near fall. Noble looked to hit his finisher, but Rey hit the 619 instead. He tried to hit the West Coast Pop, but Noble caught him and attempted a double-underhook suplex. When he got Rey up, Rey hurricanrana’d Noble and held on for the win.
WINNER: Mysterio at 9:06. Very good match. These two are so smooth in the ring.
-Finlay grabbed the mic after the match and claimed Rey quit in the match last Sunday. He also called Rey soft. These two will renew their rivalry next week on Smackdown in a one-on-one match.
-Still to come, Coach(?) has challenged Mick Foley to a match tonight.
[Commercial Break]
-The Raw Rebound aired. It was focused on the two-on-one main event and Shawn Michaels.
-Matt Hardy was backstage when MVP came up to him. He asked Matt if he’d be ready to go next week, and Hardy said he would be cleared for next week. MVP talked up his performance at Cyber Sunday. Matt told MVP about his match tonight, a match that MVP didn’t know about. It’s next too, and against Kane.
-Kane came to the ring for the match.
[Commercial Break]
3- KANE vs. MVP
Kane went after MVP’s ribs, but MVP used his quickness to go on the offensive. Kane hit a huge uppercut though and then another shot to the mid-section. Kane got a kidney-shot in with his knee and almost got a pin. MVP was vicious in his offense once he got going, and applied a body-scissors, which didn’t last long. MVP hit a headbutt to the gut of Kane for two-and-a-half. To the second rope, MVP came off with a knee shot to the ribs. Just a hard-hitting matchup thus far. A bodyscissors was again put on by MVP. Seated abdominal stretch by MVP. The running kick of MVP’s connected, and knocked Kane out of the ring. He was down at ringside as the show went to break.
[Commercial Break]
MVP had a, surprise, bodyscissors on Kane out of break. With Kane in the corner, MVP missed a running kick and Kane made his comeback. Kane went to the top and hit the flying clothesline. As he was readying for the chokeslam, Big Daddy V made his way to the ring. Kane was distracted, but not enough to forget about MVP, who he hit with a chokeslam.
WINNER: Kane at 13:35. Fine match; lots of psychology and taking out body parts. But I wouldn’t call it boring.
-Big Daddy V attacked after the match and hit the Samoan Drop on Kane.
[Commercial Break]
4- MICK FOLEY vs. JONATHON COACHMAN
I was watching his Backlash match with Randy Orton this past weekend, and looking back, he was in amazing shape then. When both men got in the ring, they realized there was no ref. And then Mr. McMahon was brought out as the special ref. Of course, it was Mr. Hornswoggle McMahon. I didn’t think Vince would waste his time on the “B” Show. Hornswoggle knelt behind Coach, who was then pushed over by Foley. Ah, the old schoolboy. Foley hit some right hands on Coach in the corner as Hornswoggle admonished him....then laide in some rights of his own. Foley raked Coach’s face over the top rope, then Horny one-upped him again by poking Coach in the eyes. Running clothesline from Foley, then a running elbow. At least he hasn’t given up his yelling while on offense. A green Mr. Socko made its first appearance. It was promptly inserted into the gullet of Coach. After that put Coach down, Horny hit the tadpole splash and Foley covered for the win.
WINNER: Foley at 2:58.
-Still to come, Mark Henry & Great Khali vs. Batista & Undertaker.
[Commercial Break]
-ECW Champion CM Punk will be on Smackdown next week.
-Dee Snider from “Twisted Sister” is at ringside.
5- CHUCK PALUMBO vs. KENNY DYKSTRA
This feud is still going on? Michelle McCool was with Chuck, and Victoria with Kenny. Hip-lock take-over by Palumbo, but Dykstra got out of it. Palumbo hit some power moves but made the mistake of following Dykstra to the outside, where Kenny baited him in and worked on the back. Palumbo came back with some punches and caught Dykstra in mid-air for a slam. Belly-to-belly suplex came next, followed by a running boot. Chuckie went to the top, where Victoria distracted him, but McCool came to his aid and took her out. Dykstra meanwhile met Palumbo on the top rope and tried a suplex. It didn’t work and Palumbo ended up hitting a flying shoulder tackle. Full Throttle ended it.
WINNER: Palumbo at 3:32. Is it really even a feud when Palumbo seems to dominate every week?
-Clips of a Rey Mysterio DVD autograph signing aired.
-Runjin Singh was talking to Khali backstage when Mark Henry barged in, asking if he was ready. Henry said the two faces would have no trust tonight. The two behemoths left to get ready for their match.
[Commercial Break]
6- THE GREAT KHALI & MARK HENRY vs. THE UNDERTAKER & BATISTA
Taker and Henry started things off, with Taker hammering away on Henry in the corner. He spent the early going working on the shoulder of the former World’s Strongest Man. Surprisingly, he actually hit Old School early on. Henry got dumped to the outside. Cue the break.
[Commercial Break]
Back from break, it was Batista in there with Henry. When keeping Mark Henry in the ring is making this watchable, you have the makings of an all-time-like terrible tag-team. Right on schedule, Khali tagged in. He and Undertaker traded right hands. Khali put Undertaker down then posed amid boos. Henry tagged in and was promptly hit with a DDT. Batista hit a clothesline on Henry that he actually had to follow through on to knock the big man down. Henry tagged Khali in and he put the boots to Batista in the heel corner. Hook of the leg by Khali, only a two-count. Off the ropes went Batista, clothesline by Khali. Batista worked out of the nerve hold, but was chopped (slo..w..l..y) by Khali. Batista almost had to stop and wait for the hand to come down on his head. Khali applied the vice grip as Taker started pacing on the apron. Taker finally came in illegally and broke the hold. Once everyone re-grouped, Batista hit a spear on Khali, then tagged in the Dead Man. He unloaded on Mark Henry and hit a running clothesline in the corner. He laid in some rights and lefts on Khali as well. He got both men in position for a chokeslam, but both fought out. Taker got Khali for a chokeslam, but Khali battled out. Batista speared Henry. Big boot for Khali. Batista set up Henry for the Batista Bomb, but JBL interfered and took out Batista. Both heels went on the offensive after the match. Michael Cole’s voice raised as high as I’ve ever heard it as he wondered what JBL was doing. Khali locked in the vice grip on Undertaker and Henry bear-hugged Batista.
WINNERS: Undertaker & Batista by DQ at 13:42. I don’t really get the ending unless JBL is planning a comeback. Both faces were left lying as the show ended.
