James Caldwell, Torch Assistant Editor (4.5)

If last night's WWE Raw script was drawn up on a dirty napkin at Denny's at 3:00 a.m., the script for ECW TV must have been drawn up in the sandbox during kindergarten recess. Seriously, the ECW champion - your future top heel in the company - spends an entire show trying to find his title belt? I understand playing to the kids audience, but do you have to pander to them with Hornswoggle playing keep-away from Swagger? Eh.

The wrestling action on this show certainly left a ton to be desired. Mark Henry vs. Tommy Dreamer was aided by the simple fact that Matt Striker and Todd Grisham are freakin' awesome on commentary. Grisham sharing a short story about Henry's ticket request denials and Striker talking about Henry cutting to the front of the movie line were great moments in WWE's ECW broadcast history. Amazing way to fill a very slow portion of the match.

I get the feeling that Ricky Ortiz heel turn is finally going to occur. He's just so annoying trying to play babyface with that towel, so the punch to the face from the Worm-man will hopefully wake up his character to having a tougher edge. ... More camera time for Tiffany was certainly welcome, even if it was for the lame reason of playing ECW Title Ghost Hunter for an hour.

Dominick Mayer, PWTorch.com Contributor (3.5)

Ten minutes of in-ring action in a one-hour show. Are you kidding me? Now, I've been complaining how there's not enough quality wrestling on the show, but after tonight, I'll take the slam on quality in order to get any. The Ortiz-Boogeyman exchange was really, really awkward, and the Burchill-Finlay match was too short to amount to anything. The Dreamer-Henry match was okay, but all of this paled in comparison to the mass importance of a million video packages, all of which were shown on Raw last night. Both Wrestlemania packages, the Royal Rumble recap, the Orton angle (which made it look not nearly as lame, credit to the production trucks for that one). I'd really like to know why they had to re-show all those on the one-hour show, when they have a two-hour show three days later, in which they will show them all again? Just a rough, rough outing tonight.

Greg Parks, PWTorch.com Contributor (3.0)

At least this show was bad in a different way than Raw last night. This was just a nothing-going-on show as opposed to poorly done show. At least Raw had a few decent short matches last night and a couple redeemable segments. The problem with a one-hour show is that the margin of error is smaller.

Matt Hardy leaving the brand made sense; ECW needs faces, not heels, and Hardy would've dropped down a level anyway by virtue of the heel Jack Swagger having the belt. Speaking of Swagger, I was hoping he'd get a little more mic time. Instead, it looks like he's transitioning into a feud with Finlay. That should bring some good in-ring action to the table, but Finlay is not a long-term threat by any stretch.

Both matches on the show were simply OK. Unfortunately, the energy level wasn't particularly high in either of them. But at least we were saved from an Ortiz vs. Boogeyman match. Totally forgettable show.
