Better than average Impact for sure. Foley stepped up with his best mic work yet and a real sense of being engaged in the product. Jarrett was fine. Angle was his usual strong self. Sting also continues to seem as engaged and believable on the mic as he ever has in his entire career. Nash was good at the start of the show, too. So from a performance standpoint, at least on the mic, there was a lot of solid to good stuff among the top teir guys.
TNA's booking is paced in a way where it's tough to plan ahead with a main event like this because this tag match was booked as a result of what happened at Destination X four day earlier, and they have other things to move on to next week. They should work really hard in the future to give themselves at least a week's notice on a match like that so it doesn't get defined down as just another match. The announcers can call it a dream match, but dream matches don't just happen 90 minutes after being booked. That's not enough time to really build anticipation.
The Joe-Bashir angle was disturbing and disgusting. The whole "go back to where you came from" deal is always touchy, and going about it during a torture scenario with a knife was just unpleasant to watch. I wouldn't be surprised if that really turned off a significant percentage of the audience who just aren't comfortable seeing that type of intensity and scenario in the context of a wrestling show.
The Beautiful People did strong mic work, too, and I doubt Cute Kip will be missed. The Rough Cut with Devon was nice background and an enjoyable feature to watch. The Booker-Styles thing was fine, and it was respectful of TNA to the audience to explain the Legends Title situation.
The in-ring wrestling wasn't particularly strong. The main event was more of an angle than a match. The Gunns tag was fast-paced but ultimately frenetic and forgettable. The women's match were probably better than usual lately, but they haven't been close to good most of the time lately. I do like the initiation angle with Rayne.

This episode of TNA Impact was a big improvement over the last couple of weeks as far as pacing for the show. The show didn't seem as rushed as it has been which made the show easier to watch and comprehend what was occurring. TNA did a decide job of promoting the main event and making it seem like a main event level or even a PPV caliber match.
Some good work on the mic from Sting, Mick Foley and the Beautiful People, who are significantly better off without Kip James. TNA still needs to elevate some of their young talent to main event status instead on relying on guys who are on the downside of their careers like Sting, Kurt Angle, Mick Foley and Jeff Jarrett. Three of those wrestlers started wrestling in the 1980's, not exactly fresh acts. The show was light on in-ring action as it doesn't seem as that is a priority for the company.

The seed has been planted, and the seed has grown up quite fast. It's going to be Sting vs. Foley at Lockdown. The path leading up to what happened to close the show tonight has been interesting to watch. Hopefully the next month of Impact's build up the match to the point where this feud seems like something worthwhile. For all the crap TNA gets in the Internet community, one thing has remained true in their main event storylines - I have no clue what is going to happen in the next month. While at times TNA's major storylines can be outlandish, corny and nothing but a waste of a talents potential, you can always say they are unpredictable - unlike some of the WWE storylines.
I'm having a hard time even remembering some of the undercard segments. I guess that could pretty much sum them up right there. Slightly noticeable at the time, but completely forgotten by the end of the show. The Beautiful People segment was good for one thing, announcing Kip will be off my TV for the forseeable future. It may have seemed like a good idea to give Samoa Joe an edge, but what he has done to Steiner and Bashir seems a little over-the-top.
Team 3D vs. Beer Money should be good, but I do not like how they set the match up. After a competitive bout with a surprising win by No Limit over the Guns, Beer Money rushed the ring to dispose of the two teams. Shelley and Sabin deserve better than being fodder for the tag champs to simply set up the next segment.
