I have no idea why they keep going back to Jeff punching ref Hebner. This is TNA. This is tweener territory. Tonight there was no visual proof of Hebner getting the shot meant that if you didn't see this act in which we're forming the current Foley-Jarrrett feud on, well then, you're just going to have to take our word for it. I'll just chalk it up to TNA stupidity, ignorance, or most likely combination of the two.
What stood out to me in this show was three things: Raven stalking Lauren, Joe butchering...OK, systematically destroying Steiner and Booker, and the back-to-basics main event of Angle vs. Sting. The good part about Foley's comedy act with Jarrett (I loved the part where Foley led his tree-house gang of security guards to oust JJ) was that it didn't take up the entire night. Raven, Dr. Stevie and Wacky Daffney had a great, creepy bit tonight in stalking Lauren/attacking Wilde. It seems like it was forever until TNA finally got it right in how Joe was portrayed, and Joe taking out two MEM members moves him far away from "chump" status, in which he was residing.
Tara defeated one of the push-up bra bimbos. She was stuck wearing banana outfits in WWE. Now Tara scares me. Team 3D continue with their gait towards the PPV (random X Division wrestlers ---> everybody run in and push storylines!). Shane Douglas was beautiful in his farmer's tan and his own delusion that all he needed to do was to simply stand in the ring and wait for people to applaud him. The newer generation of fans are probably wondering what the hell Daniels did to get the Douglas lump on his hands.

It's pretty simple to get a thumbs-up show when Kurt Angle vs. Sting is the main event and it goes over 10 minutes. The stuff between Jeff Jarrett and Mick Foley is kinda silly, but it's not some of the over-the-top stuff they've done in the past. I really liked the angle with Raven and Daffney beating up Lauren and Taylor Wilde. The opening tag was fine, but I'm still not sure why they're pairing two halves of other tag teams.
Shane Douglas stunk, but I guess that was to be expected. Tara had a good five minute match with Madison Rayne, though I don't get why Rayne is even in the Beautiful People. I guess every group needs someone to blame things on when all goes wrong. I don't know where they're going with Matt Morgan, but I'm glad they had him step up and get physical with Angle when he didn't appreciate Morgan's help.

Tonight was another strong but not outstanding show by TNA. The problem with TNA in the past was that they would always have one or two good storylines, while everything else was crap. But things have been different lately, as I have been intrigued by most of the show lately. The main event storylines are strong as usual. It is pretty much a given that Foley will drop the title, but it's up to TNA to build the next couple weeks on who is the best choice to win. The frustrations within the Mafia are great as well, as the stable was getting a bit stale until Sting took over as the leader. Kurt Angle defeating Sting tonight under questionable circumstances will do nothing to ease that tension.
The tag division is still strong, as Beer Money, 3D, the Brits and maybe even a returning LAX could all slot in to face any other team. I was not excited to see Shane Douglas back in TNA, but intrigue has been added with the match stipulations made by Daniels where it appears one of them will be gone after Slammiversary. It was good to see Victoria back in action. With three-to-one odds vs. the Beautiful People, we could see her join forces with the suddenly M.I.A. Kong. The KO division has been better lately, although that may have something to do with the lack of Sojo Bolt and Rhaka Khan lately.
The one storyline weakness lately has been Dr. Stevie, Abyss, Daffney and Raven. But I will give TNA credit for adding Lauren into the mix. Who says announcers can't have personalities or be friends/enemies with the wrestlers? Oh wait, WWE has been saying that for years. I appreciate the fact that the announcers in TNA portray a character just the same as the actual wrestlers do.
