Not a very strong version of ECW but I couldn't consider it bad either. The big announcement of the show was that ECW will fold in 3 weeks time. It will be replaced with Tuesday Night Titans. Oh wait, I was just reminded by someone that this is 2010 and not 1984. Sorry for the misinformation. But seriously, I'm hoping that the brand is simply being renamed and not overhauled in general. I'm not against a re-boot as long as the show remains as the third WWE brand and doesn't turn into another "Superstars" type of show. For a long time, even before I began at The Torch, I have lobbied for a name change to the brand as there is nothing "extreme" about it. Hopefully that's the case here. I won't address any reports floating around about the potential new name for the brand until it is confirmed though.
As for the rest of the show, it was okay but nothing great, nor terrible. This might be the first time in the history of the Abraham Washington Show that it was purely entertaining. I know that's not saying much but it just clicked on this edition of ECW. Tony Atlas had a lot to do with that. Christian was golden on the mic, as usual, which helped the segment. His interaction with Zack Ryder was strong, as well, which gave us the ECW main event for the evening. I was surprised to see Gregory Helms' mug shot on the video screen though, even if it didn't shock many in the arena.
Pertaining to the ECW Title picture (by the way, does that belt get retired or does the current ECW Champ at that time get grandfathered into a new title?), I suppose the right move was made to keep the feud going with Christian and Ezekiel Jackson. Helms ended up being buried twice as a result of the angle, but I guess he dug his own grave there. As for the Trent Barreta-Yoshi Tatsu match and Shelton Benjamin-Vance Archer matches, they were okay but no one really seems to care about either one of these feuds. Also, some constructive criticism for Josh Matthews (who usually does a nice job): Shelton's last name is Benjamin, not "Benjermin". I wonder if I was the only person that caught him saying that over and over? Again, an okay show but definitely nothing to write home about.

Well, as big news goes, you can't get much bigger than Vince McMahon walking up and saying the show you're watching is over in less than a month. In a way I'm glad they're going the full nine and officially making it a show dedicated to young talent. It's still sad to see them finally throw in the towel. At least ECW can finally rest. The rest of the show was mostly business as usual. It's going to be interesting to see how they try and wrap up feuds in the next couple weeks, and what happens to the ECW Title for that matter; I'm assuming it'll fold? The matches were mostly just there, though Vance Archer looked better in a ten-minute showcase match. I do have issues with Helms' mug shot being used in a storyline, but WWE has embraced being self-aware too much to not comment on it, I suppose. It's just a double standard; where's Jericho's mugshot? Or, for that matter, where was Jeff Hardy's?

I thought it was apt that on the same episode where Vince McMahon comes out to announce that ECW will fold (due to low ratings, but they won't admit it on-air), the show began with the Abraham Washington Show, one of the most excruciating ongoing segments to sit through as a fan and an instant channel-changer for most. Shelton Benjamin carried Vance Archer to a decent match, but the only thing Archer seems to have going for him at this point is his size. I enjoyed Tatsu vs. Barreta, as the tag feud has become good mid-card fodder.
The main event was also fun to watch. I like Zack Ryder and even though his feud with Christian a month or two ago lasted only, like, two episodes, it was good that they didn't beat him cleanly here. Of course, the downside of that is that it appears the Ezekiel Jackson vs. Christian feud isn't over, and we could be getting a re-match at Elimination Chamber (if they even bother to put an ECW match on that card).
