KELLER'S TNA IMPACT REPORT
FEBRUARY 4, 2010
AIRED ON SPIKE TV
TAPED IN ORLANDO, FLA.

[Q1]

-A video packaged aired on the web of storylines Hulk Hogan is involved in with Kurt Angle, A.J. Styles, Earl Hebner, Mick Foley, Scott Hall, X-Pac, Jeff Jarrett, Eric Bischoff, Mr. Anderson, and Mick Foley. Well, three of them are under age 40.

-The show is titled "The Breaking of the Band."

-After the TNA Impact opening, Mike Tenay and Taz introduced the show as pyro blasted in the Impact Zone.

1 -- BRUTUS MAGNUS vs. MR. ANDERSON -- Tournament Qualifier

During his ring intro, Tenay called this one of the biggest singles matches in Magnus's career. Kennedy declared himself the future of "that there four-sided ring." So, are we supposed to cheer for Anderson or Magnus? The cocky sarcastic conceited jerk or the anti-American foreigner who helped beat up babyface X Champ (at the time) Amazing Red last week? Tenay and Taz talked about Jeff Jarrett losing to Mr. Anderson last week. Tenay suggested Jarrett might have won if it weren't his first match in seven months. Taz wondered if Jarrett passed Eric Bischoff's gut-check test. Tenay said the "implications" (he meant "ramifications") of the Eight-Card Stud Tournament are huge. He also hyped the recent European tour. Short match. Anderson got the majority of the offense. Late he went for his finisher, but Anderson raked his eyes and gave him a Mic Check for the win.

WINNER: Anderson in 3:00 with the Mic Check.

-Mick Foley was shown arriving at the Impact Zone. [c]

-Christy Hemme interviewed Kurt Angle backstage regarding his match against Tomko later to advance in the tournament. Angle switched subjects to the Syxx-Pac and Scott Hall attack last week, blaming Hogan for it. Christy doubted that Hogan was behind it. "That's who Hulk Hogan is," said Angle. "He's finally showing his true colors."

[Q2]

-They went to Tenay and Taz at ringside, who hyped the rest of the line-up for Impact. They also discussed Angle's "strong accusations."

-Eric Bischoff walked to the ring. Taz said Hogan seems to be the cooler head and Bischoff is the hot-head in that duo. Bischoff said it's great to be there one more time. He said last week, Hogan made it really clear to Foley that he had to get on the same page with him. He said Foley made it clear he's not interested in doing that. He said it's a decision that will cost Foley dearly.

Foley interrupted and entered the ring. He said his reputation in the business is there's something wrong in his head. He talked about how it wasn't because of the abuse he took, but because he seemed to like just about everyone. He said people would try to get him to say bad things about people like Marcus Bagwell, Paul Heyman, Jim Hellwig (he doesn't exist anymore). Foley added, "The Warrior," for clarification. He said Bischoff is the "exception that proves the rule" (being the latest to butcher the use of that cliche). He said he hates his stinkin' guts, "you slick little hustler." He said he's the polar opposite of everything he is and believes in. He said he would have given anything for the pro wrestling business, he came in from the outside as a salesman and announcer, "and the worst one in history at that." Taz interjected, "I guess Mick's never heard of Mike Adamle." He said Bischoff weaseled his way into power because he's somebody who didn't embody old school pro wrestling. Foley said maybe he went to the school that burned down before they built the old school, "because I can't stand you."

Bischoff spoke up and said he's made it clear he doesn't like him, but he said it was his decision not to join the team. Foley said he loves working at Impact and being part of TNA, but he's always prepared himself for a worst case scenario. He said that's why at age 22 he was saving every dime. He said he drives a piece of crap mini-van because he doesn't want to "have to answer to idiots like you." He said marked down two words on his hand: J.B. and Abyss. He said he shouldn't be messing around with other people. He said Borash is the guy with buggy eyes who holds a microphone. He said the Impact Zone would shut down without J.B. He said the fact that he doesn't know that and doesn't care to know that shows how little interest he has in learning what makes TNA tick.

Bischoff seemed to forget his line for a second as he interrupted. Foley began to save him, but Bischoff said he's listened long enough to him babble. He said since he's not going to get on the same page with him, he's going to have to turn the page. He said they're both New York Times Best Selling authors. Foley interrupted and said, "Power should be limited to those who are not in love with it." He said with all respect to his wife of 20 years, he's always told her the pro wrestling business was his first real love. He said it was the first thing he loved that loved him back. He said he knows it might not last forever, and has prepared for that. "I can accept that the relationship is over, but I'll be damned if I'll stand around and watch you have your way with the woman I love," he said.

As Foley walked away, Bischoff told him that he might want to look at that hand one more time, because he still has their futures in the palms of his hands. He said since he doesn't want to get on his page, and he wants to write a new chapter, he's booking him against Kevin Nash in a no-DQ match. He said he's a student of history and he has a history with Nash after jumping him a few weeks ago. He said tonight Nash gets his revenge on him. [c]

-Christy interviewed Tara backstage. She talked about her history with Angelina Love. She says she made life miserable for her when she first arrived in TNA, but she seems to be a different person since returning to TNA. She said she's ready for her later, though.

[Q3]

2 -- HERNANDEZ & MATT MORGAN vs. TEAM 3D -- TNA Tag Team Title match

Tenay and Taz talked up the title history of Team 3D, calling them the most decorated tag team in history. The two babyface teams traded collisions and offensive runs. The Nasty Boys came to ringside and knocked Devon off the top rope as he was setting up What's Up. Morgan finished Brother Ray with the Carbon Footprint. Taz said it was a big-time win for Morgan & Hernandez, even taking into consideration the tomfoolery from the Nasty Boys.

WINNERS: Morgan & Hernandez at 4:00 to retain the TNA Tag Team Titles when Morgan pinned Brother Ray after the Carbon Footprint.

-After the match, the Nasty Boys were about to attack Team 3D with a chair when Morgan and Hernandez made the save. Team 3D fist-bumped Morgan & Hernandez afterward. [c]

[Q4]

3 -- JESSE NEAL vs. SAMOA JOE -- Tournament Qualifier

Joe went after Neal aggressively early, tossing him around with suplexes. He finished him with the MuscleBuster.

WINNER: Joe in 2:00. Good aggressive win for Joe, who really needs to be reintroduced after a terrible push in 2009.

-Christy interviewed Hogan backstage. He hadn't heard what Angle said. Christy filled him in. Hogan said, "This is something else I didn't do that Kurt is blaming me for." He told Christy to tell Kurt he's easy to find. [c]

4 -- A.J. STYLES (w/Ric Flair) vs. "THE POPE" D'ANGELO DINERO

Taz said Styles is looking at mansions in the Atlanta, Ga. and some beachfront property in Hilton Head. Tenay said he's all about expensive suits, "arm candy," parties. Taz said Flair is like a top NFL head coach bringing Styles to a new level. It'd be good if they threw into the mix that Flair is helping Styles party and spend money that he's also coaching him on improving his game. It seems like the Flair influence is being hyped as exclusively how Styles carries himself as a champion rather than helping him get better in the ring, too. They cut to an early break a minute in after Styles bailed out to ringside after a flurry by Pope. [c]

[Q5]

Styles was on offense after the break, sneaking in a short Flair strut in the process. Taz said he was at an adult establishment last night and Pope was flocked by women. Tenay said so Styles isn't the only one partying. After Styles hit a Pele Kick on Pope, Flair disracted Pope with some trash talking, but Pope side-stepped an attack from behind by Styles. Styles approached Pope, but Pope small packaged him for the three count upset.

WINNER: The Pope in 10:00.

STAR RATING: **1/2 -- Good TV match.

-When Styles and Flair attacked Pope afterward, Joe ran out for the save and went after Styles hard and fast. As Joe turned toward Flair, Styles chop-blocked him. Pope saved Joe from a two-on-one attack. Security then came into the ring after Joe clotheslined Flair over the top rope onto the ramp. [c]

-Flair cut a promo afterward asking Pope and Joe if they "want to die tonight." Security held Pope and Joe back. Flair told them they ought to know better. Joe told Flair to shut his mouth "before I stomp the rest of the Naitch right out of your ass." He told Styles "an unrepentant scumbag." Joe yelled that Styles was always a warrior and champion, but he gave it up for "an overpriced suit and wholesale hookers." He said he needs to remind Styles how to be a man and a champion. He said that's why at Against All Odds he's cashing in his title shot. Styles was game and asked him how bad he wants his title belt. Joe told Styles from this day until then going to sleep and waking up every day knowing what is inevitable. Joe and Pope broke through security and chased after Flair and Styles. Good segment.

-Christy interviewed Angelina Love, who said she taught the Beautiful People everything they know, but not everything she knows. "And I know I would have never tried to replace Angelina Love." She said she has a championship match to think about first against Tara. She said success is the best revenge and she is awesome at revenge.

-Kevin Nash chatted with Eric Young backstage about getting things back on track. Bischoff walked in and asked to spend a minute with Nash. Bischoff acted like he didn't know who Young was. Young stood and introduced himself as the leader of the World Elite, Global Champion, and a three-year contract holder at TNA's happy little family. Young left the room. Bischoff said he probably won't remember him in the morning. Bischoff then told Nash that he needs to mop the floor with Foley later. Nash said if he does him that favor, he has a favor to ask in return. Nash asked about Syxx-Pac and Hall not having contracts yet. Bischoff said they won't follow the rules and he's tired of that. He said maybe Nash should just destroy Foley for him.

[Q6] [c]

-Christy asked Foley if he plans to fall in line. Foley said he was given a chance to either fall in line or lace them up. He said under his Foley family Christmas tree he got new athletic shoes, and he's planning to lace them up. Foley relived the cross-country tour Nash sent him on to find The Hulk. Abyss interrupted and nervously asked Foley if he's going to fall in line because Bischoff said his job is on the line. Foley told him not to worry, told Abyss a poem, and Abyss clapped and laughed. Foley made Abyss promise to stay backstage no matter how ugly and bloody it gets. Abyss reluctantly promised not to interfere. [c]

5 -- KURT ANGLE vs. TOMKO -- Tournament Match

With 26 minutes left in the show, this match began, with a Knockouts Title match and Foley-Nash main event still to come. Tomko climbed to the top rope at 2:00. Angle suplexed him off the top rope to the mat. Tomko came back and went for a big boot. Angle ducked and hit a series of unreleased German suplexes. He applied the Anklelock for the tapout win.

WINNER: Angle in 4:00.

STAR RATING: 3/4*

-They showed a split screen of Love and Tara heading toward the entrance tunnel for their match up next.

[Q7] [c]

-A video package aired with freeze-frames of TNA's European tour including Dixie Carter shaking hands with fans with graphics showing the cities they travelled to. Good job giving TNA a global feel.

-Another video package aired on Hogan's arrivial in TNA and the upheaval behind the scenes that resulted, especially between Foley and Nash.

-Hogan approached Nash backstage and said he got the Tri-Star thing for him. Nash asked Hogan to give Syxx-Pac and Hall another chance. Hogan said they've had a half-dozen chances already. He said it's in his best interest to distance himself from them. Hogan said he did everything he can. Nash said now more than ever is when they need him. Hogan said they're acting up more than ever. He said Nash at least knows he did everything he can. Nash asked Hogan to keep an open mind. Hogan said, "Don't let them suck you in; you know how they are." Boy if there isn't truth in this angle.

6 -- TARA vs. ANGELINA LOVE

They engaged in a test of strength at the start, and then Tara dropped Love into a side headlock on the mat. They cut to a very early break. [c]

[Q8]

When Love whipped Tara into the ropes, they blurred her cleavage, indicating a little too much was showing apparently. Tara finished Love with a Widow's Peak attempt, but Love rolled out of it. Tara, though, reversed Love into a leverage three count.

WINNER: Tara in 5:00. Less than half of the match aired. Very short match. Too short.

-The Beautiful People attacked Love afterward. Tara watched for a few seconds, then decided to save Love. They continued to blur Tara's chest.

-They showed Hall and Pac lurking outside of the Impact Zone. [c]

-Angle barged into Hogan's office. He demanded to know how he could look him in the eye and shake his hand and then his cronies are attacking him from behind. Hogan said he's refused to give Hall and Pac contracts "because they're a bunch of thugs," but now he thinks he hired him to do his dirty work. "Is that the conspiracy theory in your own head, brother?" he told Angle. "Your temper is the problem." He said he's blown several opportunities in the past due to his temper. Angle said he doesn't trust Hogan as far as he can throw him. He said he's heard all of the horror stories from people he's done business with. "You're not going to screw with me like you screwed with them," Angle said. "Consider this your last warning." Hogan stood and asked Angle to please leave his office. Taz told Angle to chill out because he can't just accuse the new guy he works for of being a snake.

7 -- MICK FOLEY vs. KEVIN NASH

Foley swung a barbed wire baseball bat at Nash, who blocked them with a trash can. Foley wound up the bat, but waited to Nash to pick up a chair before swinging at him again. Nash used the chair to block him. Nash used a hockey stick to Foley's legs to drop him to the mat. Nash tried to choke Foley with the barbed wire bat, but Foley mule kicked him. Foley beat up Nash at ringside for a minute. In the ring Foley picked up a framed picture. He glanced at the picture and supposedly hesitated, although he really didn't, and Nash caught him with a boot to the face and pinned him. Tenay asked, "Why did he hesitate?" (That's how we knew he hesitated, since he really just glanced at it without really hesitating.) Anyway, it turned out to be that caricature of he and Abyss.

WINNER: Nash in 3:00.

-Syxx and Hall jumped Nash afterward, turning on him. The show ended with both Foley and Nash on the mat and Syxx and Hall posturing for the crowd and camera.
