UNDER THE MICROSCOPE - 9/5 WWE SMACKDOWN: What I noticed that you might have missed Sep 5, 2008 - 9:36:28 PM
Hello folks and welcome to Under the Microscope: Smackdown edition. Sorry for missing out last week. I was out last Friday night because of my job and messed up the recording of the show. Sorry about it all, but let us take a thorough look at the last Smackdown before Unforgiven.
The King of Kings
Triple H came out this week to his rarely used theme song "King of Kings" by Motorhead. This song debuted at Wrestlemania 22 before his WWE title match against John Cena. It is interesting though that a face would be asking people to bow down to him. "Bow down to the King of Kings."
Kenny is the true King Of Kings
Did anyone catch the Kenny > Triple H Sign out in the crowd during Triple H's "promo"? Must have been Kenny's mom….or Lenny Dykstra, the former CF of the Phillies and the Mets, happy that someone's name sounds a lot like his.
The King of Bling
So MVP is the King of Bling? How is the King of Bling better than the King of Kings? Triple H is the king of all the kings, which I believe includes the King of Bling. I wonder if it also includes the King of the Ring? Sorry, King Regal.
What's Up?
R Truth raps to ring just like he did when he was tagging with Road Dogg in the WWF back in 2001 as the aptly named K-Kwick. That was a terrible gimmick.
ECW Alert!
Tonight, we were blessed from the ECW locker room both Bam Neely and Chavo Guerrero. On other news, I wonder how much WWE rakes in from selling Chavo t-shirts in comparison to John Cena. Bam Neely has yet to win a singles match since coming to the WWE. He did win a handicap match teaming with Chavo to defeat Kane.
Who's In Charge?
According to J.R. and Tazz, Vickie was not going to be at Smackdown tonight. With that news, who is in charge tonight? When Raw didn't have a GM, things kinda went chaotic. Anyway, I guess that really doesn't matter as Vickie just showed up and is walking on her own. I wonder what Taker said really got her to come to the arena.
Call the Cops!
Man, they must be running long tonight if they were willing to cut Taker's long entrance. When was the last time that Taker was featured at 8:30 on Smackdown rather than during the opener or main event? Anyway, does Taker plan to kill Vickie? Couldn't Vickie just have Taker arrested for threatening to kill her and from stalking her? Where is the logic?
Taker is one scary dude
Not only is Taker threatening to kill the general manager of smackdown, he is also scaring both MVP and Shelton Benjamin. I guess I would have been scared too walking out there when a man who just threatened to murder someone could be anywhere.
Wrong Superhero
JR had the line of the night by referring to Benjamin by Spiderman. After a kick from MVP, he goes to say that Spiderman was knocked out of his cape. Great line. Thankfully, Tazz corrected him.
A Blonde Diva with a Personality?
Did you catch Maryse playing with Maria's face during the pin? That was the most interesting part of the match to me.
Super Crazy=Wining Streak?
Super Crazy winning twice on WWE tv this week?...It normally takes Crazy a year to win two matches.
Wardrobe Malfunction
I guess Bri went under the ring to change her shirt. Maybe she sweats too much during her match and she wanted to get a little fresh by changing her shirt and using a little Secret deodorant. I wonder if both Bri and Undertaker are currently hiding under the ring?
Eh, I don't care
As I have watched this episode during the different "promos" and the main event, it just doesn't seem like Triple H cares to be there on Smackdown and feuding with these guys. To me, that just really doesn't make me want to order the PPV if a match as big as the WWE Scramble seems like it will be a blow out. As I type this though, Hardy has just given H the twist of fate. That does add a little excitement, but what's the point? Triple H has been coasting since coming to Smackdown and that is shown through his promos and his matches. But whatever.
I hope you enjoyed this week's edition of Smackdown. I hope next week's is a little bit more exciting. See you next week!
