ECW HITS

Miz & Morrison: ECW got off to a good start with The Miz and John Morrison's in ring promo. They did their best to hype their Survivor Series match. They were their usual good selves on the mic. I laughed when Morrison said that he should be the leader of their team instead of John Bradshaw Layfield. It is great how they can build another wrestler up at the same time that they take him down. Their comments about Kane were amusing as well. The promo was hit or miss with the humor, but more hit than miss. I really liked what they had to say about Shawn Michaels at the end. It was a nice way to follow up on their big win from the night before.

6 Man Tag: This is a marginal Hit. It was a solid 6 man tag t.v. main event. It went 12 minutes and featured pretty good wrestling action. There was nothing special about it. It was pretty standard. But, it worked for what it was. There were some nice exchanges between William Regal and Finlay. It was nice to see Cody Rhodes getting in some offense as well. I was glad that Matt Hardy's involvement was kept to a minimum. I have mixed feelings about Kofi Kingston's involvement. On the one had, he got to come in on a hot tag and show fire and remind the audience of his athleticism and why he is fun to watch in the ring. On the other hand, he took the loss. He keeps losing ever since he and CM Punk became Tag Team Champions on Raw. It isn't a good use of a Tag Team Champ. In the end, it was still enjoyable enough to get a Hit.

ECW MISSES

All American Challenge: This was just lame, as are pretty much all amateur style matches in professional wrestling. It was very boring to watch. It had a very predictable ending. Seriously, who didn't see that coming? I like Jack Swagger. He has a lot of potential. But, this isn't the way to go with him. The follow up wasn't very good either, as Tommy Dreamer cheated, but the overly biased Teddy Long gave him an Extreme Rules match instead of punishing him for not following the rules of Swagger's match. I am looking forward to this match more though, and hope that Swagger will then be moved on to a new opponent.

Striker in the Ring: Matt Striker has found his role as the color commentator on ECW. He is doing a great job and is working very well with Todd Grisham. There is no point in having him in the ring at this point, whether to wrestle, or in this case to recall his old classroom gimmick. I don't need to see him doing that gimmick to talk about a Survivor Series match. It didn't make me want to see the PPV any more than I did already. It didn't really do anything but waste time. He is the color commentator. Let him have that role and use air time for other members of the roster to do something on screen.
