By Kyle Hodgdon, PWTorch Specialist

This week's column is laid out a bit differently than normal because I want to focus on what seems to be TNA's version of the Money in the Bank ladder match. First off, I don't know why anyone would want to be in this match or strive for a case at all. It isn't like title matches are few and far between in TNA.

If I were a wrestler on the roster I would much rather work my way up winning other matches that did not have the risk of being fired to earn a title shot. Why would anyone want to place himself in a one in four chance of getting fired? But I guess sometimes there is no point to argue with logic when analyzing TNA, so on with the predictions.

JAY LETHAL

When I set out to do this article, I didn't realize that, unlike last year, one of the cases has already been revealed. So I guess that takes a little mystery out of this prediction, but it looks like Jay Lethal is going to be taking a break from the X Division and setting his sights at tag team competition.

Personally I think this is a good move by TNA as it feels like Lethal has been in the X-Division title picture for the past ten years straight. At least Feast or Fired has given him an excuse to move on to something different.

It seems to me that the only logical choice for a partner is Consequences Creed. After Lethal makes that decision, the Motor City Machine Guns will probably get upset and challenge the newly formed duo for the title opportunity that Lethal rightly won. After fending off MCMG, Lethal and Creed could move on to the tag title picture with a feud against Beer Money, which could be pretty decent, so long as it is not too rushed.

HOMICIDE

While Jay Lethal is moving out of the X Division and into the tag team realm, it looks like the exact opposite is occurring with Homicide. LAX has been one of the shining acts on TNA programming since the team's inception. They were different, had good chemistry, and were exciting to watch. But with that being said, I think they have reached their wick's end as a tag team.

If that is the case, there is no reason why they can't still be a faction. If Degeneration X worked while Michaels and Hunter were competing for their own respected titles, why can't the LAX still continue?

I really do think that the X Division is the right place for Homicide. Hopefully his presence will rejuvenate the meaning of that belt. I'm not exactly sure when his case, or any of the others will be revealed, but it looks like it could drag out for a while with the announcement of the X-Division tournament.

HERNANDEZ

While Homicide moves on to the X Division, Hernandez will soon be thrust into the main event spotlight. It seems likely that his case will hold the shot at the TNA Heavyweight Championship.

Of any of the other men in the match, Hernandez is the only logical choice to be elevated to that level. As I said above, LAX is a great pair, but as a tag team, they have grown stale. As singles competitors, both Hernandez and Homicide can accomplish more than they can together.

Thus far, LAX has not been included in the Main Event Mafia versus Frontline feud. Once Hernandez gets involved in the World Title picture, it seems inevitable that they will be included in that storyline. I think that they will be able to make more of an impact than the likes of Team 3D or the X Division guys have.

If it's revealed that Hernandez does indeed have the TNA Title shot in his case, the next question is whether TNA has faith in Hernandez to be a main event player. Aside from Joe and Styles, I cannot think of another TNA homegrown talent to be a player in the main event picture. It will be interesting to see if TNA is truly comfortable in immersing Hernandez in that environment for any amount of time.

CURRY MAN

I will be amazed if TNA does not give Curry Man his "walking papers." This character wore out his welcome long, long ago. I guess this marks the one-year anniversary that Christopher Daniels was served with the same treatment, so I guess it is appropriate. At this point, the only people who I can see missing Curry Man would be Mike Tenay and Don West.

Once Curry Man is officially served with his pink slip, the questions on everyone's mind is when and how Daniels will make his return. Reinstatement from Mick Foley seems like the easiest option and would make sense with how Foley is trying to help out the Frontline.

Personally I cannot wait for Daniels to come back. A lot of time has passed since he left and little mention was made about him while he was gone to make everyone else miss him as well.

If everything breaks down as I suspect it will, all in all Feast or Fired would have served its purpose quite well by bringing back Daniels, getting rid of Curry Man, and moving Homicide, Hernandez, and Lethal to new divisions where their roles will not be so stagnant. We'll see what's in store for these four individuals in the weeks to come.
