TNA Impact reports from Wade Keller, James Caldwell, and Daniel Wilkenfeld will be posted on Friday.

Updated Thursday, December 11, 2008 - TNA Impact Roundtable

-- Up and down show tonight. It started off with the weekly dose of Main Event Mafia interview time. At least they didn't give Scott Steiner the mic. And it was good to see A.J. Styles defend the Frontline.

-- Jeff Jarrett stepping aside was necessary as there were too many authority figures. Still, will people buy that the admitted owner of the company is just another "one of the guys" and won't have extra pull for stuff? I can just see it now: "He's the owner why doesn't he just (fill in the blank)." That's the trouble you run into booking storylines like that.

-- I'm glad Mike Tenay noted the consequence of Bashir's actions in getting fined; it's little touches like that that make it seem more realistic. His match with EY was your usual 3:00 Impact match.

-- "Sarah Palin" is giving the Beautiful People a make-over? I thought it was supposed to be the other way around?

-- I liked Chris Sabin's post-match promo, but Shelley's match with Jay Lethal was too forgettable. They are two of the best athletes in TNA and should be getting more than 2:00 for their match.

-- Matt Morgan's promo on Abyss was his best in a while; he didn't seem to rush it as much as usual.

-- "Beer Bottle on a Pole Match?" Russo has almost become a parody of himself, since people still joke about the ridiculous "pole" matches he put together in WCW. And there was Mike Tenay, having to sell it again. The match was fine, except for the use of the other weapons like the chair, which made the beer bottle seem less relevant.

-- I don't get the addition of Team 3D to The Frontline. Does TNA think they needed more credibility? Someone to speak up for them on the mic? Personally, it seems to make The Frontline weaker to have two older veterans leading them around like the younger guys are lost puppies.

-- Hey, props to TNA for not dragging out the Feast or Fired gimmick and have it get overly complicated like last year. And they made the right decision to fire Curry Man.

-- Brother Ray vs. Angle was just a match to get to the stuff that happened outside. Pro wrestling doesn't go outside the building as often as they used to, so the performance they put on there felt relatively fresh. But again, it's the Frontline getting their ass handed to them.
