Hope everyone has a great new year!
The hero of WWE, John Cena, stops Santino from telling the big secret about Santa. "There are some things you just don't talk about." Add the secret of Santa to the list of names that cannot be mentioned on WWE programming.
It's not necessarily the "poor HBK" storyline I have a problem with. HBK can get some nice interactions with JBL and Trips. It's just how the whole thing is treated, and the ones who are mainly at fault here are the announcers. "If HBK wins this match, that will surely help him with his financial troubles." "If he wins the championship, he can get more money." "Surely, the WWE Wniverse must feel for Shawn during his tough time".
Wag the dog. It's pretty shameless at times. How about y'all actually wait to your audience reacts to the storyline instead of going ahead and writing in their reaction to it? Both WWE and TNA were guilty of doing this tactic this year.
Enjoyed the ECW show. A pretty solid year for ECW in general.
Somewhere in the "Wrestling Fan" rulebook it states that "You must watch all forms of wrestling, good and bad." That is a flawed argument. But okay. You must never criticize or complain about the product shown.
TNA is the greatest form of entertainment on the planet. Their storylines are engaging and rewarding. They feature the best action that fans can really sink their teeth into. I don't feel every month like the PPV is a scam. Why, they are doing...something...with Frontline vs. MEM. And Mick Foley is coming back...in a pointless six-man tag team match. Because my goodness, the MEM tag team matches shown on Impact sure leave a positive feeling!
Genesis is coming in January, folks. Get ready for the return of Al Snow to continue his vendetta with Foley! Watch as TNA continues to believe the delusion of the fake Sarah Palin! And be prepared to be shocked when Jeff Hardy makes his return back to TNA...only to be brutalized by MEM! Order now! (credit to upload.wikimedia.org for pic)
TNA has some positives. For many viewers, TNA works. More power to them. But for others they are not getting it. I haven't got it still.
Onto Smackdown. Trips wants him some of Umaga...Vlad Kozlov. The walking cartoon, Vlad. Trips should probably wear a shirt that says "No Fat Chicks." But the "Universe" should understand that it's hard to get the crowd to cheer for you. It's weird that Trips keeps on making "Vickie fat jokes." Because Vickie isn't. And she's actually quite beautiful. And from tonight the character of Vickie looks to be one step ahead of dumb ol' Edge.
I wonder what the over/under is for how long Kizarny or Brutus Magnus will last.
We're getting either a serious feud at Mania with Maria and Michelle, or yet another "lump them all together match" and Lil Wayne as the special ref. (credit to staging.pluggedin.com for pic)
Hey, "Uuuuuuuhmaga" is coming back. Yawn. Is there a basketball game on? Or a College Bowl game on?
MVP couldn't buy a win. I don't know what sort of "messed up universe" WWE lives in, but seeing MVP act like a depressed Rod Tidwell from that Jerry Maguire movie isn't really my thing. WWE is punishing fans with "Jerry Maguire II: The Losing Streak." Maybe WWE could do a storyline where MVP has to go up to Alaska and meet eight talking snow dogs and in the process, regain sight of who he truly is. (credit to img5.allocine.fr and wwe.com for pic).
The next WWE movie for the WWE Universe! "MVP: Chumpin!" WWE is really good at ruining dates. A burden will be lifted off the "Universe's" shoulders come January 6. It's hard to say aloud "May 19" without shuddering a bit.
Kennedy-MVP, Kozlov squash, and Diva bickering are just filler.
Big Show comes back into the fold. Perhaps a "Hardy vs. Hardy" match at Mania. So far I like how this "Who hit Jeff?" mystery is being played out.
