By Marc Warzecha, Torch specialist/WWS editor

PWTorch VIP members have first-look access to all of Torch specialist Marc Warzecha's latest blogs in the newly upgraded VIP Forum. Warzecha publishes the monthly WARZECHA WIRE SERVICE in the Torch Newsletter.

There's a reason that wrestlers don't threaten to kill each other: they can't.

Well, in real life they can't.

And since professional wrestling is a simulated sport, and athletes don't kill each other in sports, it makes sense that they wouldn't kill each other in professional wrestling.

It makes sense that instead of matches being about actual life-or-death, the matches would be treated with life-or-death stakes by the wrestlers.

It makes sense that they would treat winning the World Title like it's the biggest thing in life, and losing like it's the worst.

But Samoa's Joe's new character in TNA doesn't care about titles or winning and losing.

He actually wants to kill his opponents. So, there is only one logical place that this storyline can go: Samoa Joe has to kill someone.

Not in real life, of course. But on the show. TNA apparently doesn't want to promote a simulated sport anymore; they want an action movie.

In an action movie, the stakes for the characters are life and death. If the good guy has been trying to kill the bad guy for the whole film, well, in the end he does it. He kills the bad guy.

So in order for this storyline to work TNA has to go all the way. Samoa Joe has to kill off a character in TNA.

Somebody's got to die.

It might be Steiner, Angle, or Nash. Maybe even Booker. Maybe all of them. It's the only way that Joe can possibly end up stronger at the end of this storyline.

And don't worry, TNA can always find creative ways to bring the wrestlers back as different characters once they get killed off the show.

Soap Operas do it all the time - you know the old "evil twin" storyline right?

And hell, maybe you could just kill a guy off and never have him come back. That beat down on Christian before he headed to WWE is nothing compared to what the Main Event Mafia will be able to do once they are armed with Tommy guns.

So say goodbye to wins and losses, titles, and actual matches. Vince Russo's about to finally reach is ultimate goal in this business: taking the last of the wrestling out of his wrestling show.

Marc Warzecha is producing an original documentary on improvisation with Joel Veenstra. Marc hopes you will take a look at the new teaser trailer just posted. IMPROV LEGENDS: Ideas, Insights, Icons - See the teaser trailer
