SUPERSTARS HITS

Bourne vs. Ryder: This is the best that Zack Ryder has looked in the ring, and it isn't just because he was working with Evan Bourne. This was a good match. It had some nice high flying moves, but some nice mat work as well. I still think WWE is grounding Bourne too much. This was a better showcase of his skills than what we've seen in his feud vs. Mark Henry, but still not as good as it could be. Although it was nice to see him in the ring against an opponent who can take moves like his great hurricanrana. The match went 11 minutes and never dragged. There were some nice sequences, and of course it ended with the great Shooting Star Press.

Jericho vs. Morrison: This was a great match. It isn't surprising. Chris Jericho has been on a great roll of very good to great matches lately. John Morrison continues to impress in his rise to stardom. His around the world DDT on Jericho was so fluid. That move can often be sort of clunky and sloppy, but he pulls it off to perfection. The match went back and forth and the wrestlers worked hard to put on a match with a ton of reversals, near falls, and top quality wrestling action. It had a lot of energy and was very enjoyable to watch. The ending sequence was particularly good as Jericho ultimately got the win by hooking the tights.

SUPERSTARS MISSES

Random Show: This week's Superstars seemed like the most random episode yet. There have been some random matches and moments and that's fine. I don't mind that some matches are random. But, a balance would have been better. I had forgotten about the Bella Twins until they came out to face Beth Phoenix & Rosa Mendes. The match was ok, but we haven't learned anything more about the Bellas or why they are teaming again. We haven't seen much interaction between Phoenix and her "intern" Mendes. Has Mendes graduated? Why is Phoenix still with her after it was Santino Marella who brought her into the group? Some character / story development would be nice. I enjoyed Bourne vs. Ryder, but why was Bourne who has an injury, in this match? These two have no issues against each other, Bourne is in a feud, and he is hurting, so why would Tiffany book this match? Maybe there is an answer, but we didn't get one. For that matter, why were Jericho and Morrison facing? They had a bit of an issue awhile back, but there needs to be something more. This wouldn't be a problem other than for the fact that this was Jericho's first appearance since unmasking Rey Mysterio and becoming the Intercontinental Champion. This is a case where there has to be a storyline explanation for why he is facing Morrison and why he isn't facing Mysterio again. Where was Mysterio? Having this match on Smackdown with more time to get some promo time from Jericho and Morrison to set it up and explain Mysterio's absence would have been better.
