SUPERSTARS HITS

ECW Babyfaces Make the Save: After a good, but short match between Goldust and William Regal, Regal took advantage of his Ruthless Roundtable and was beating down Goldust with the Regal Stretch, when Christian, Tommy Dreamer and Yoshi Tatsu made the save. Goldust recovered and helped the babyfaces clear the heels out of the ring. It was a good moment. Goldust vs. Regal is a good match. I hope to see more of it in the future. Considering their history, it made sense for Christian and Dreamer to come out to help take out Regal, Ezekiel Jackson and Vladimir Kozlov. It was nice to see Tatsu treated as a star big enough to be in the mix as well. A little mini faction war could be fun on Tuesday nights. Perhaps they will do a slow build to a Survivor Series classic elimination match with these four faces plus Hurricane against the Roundtable plus Zack Ryder and Paul Burchill. Getting more from the ECW roster than just Christian and Regal and Dreamer on a PPV would be nice.

SUPERSTARS MISSES

Lack of Balance: I don't understand why three of the five wrestling segments this week were devoted to Smackdown. Sure, Smackdown on the whole has been the best WWE brand since WrestleMania, but that quality has gone down the last month or so. They got the only two-segment match of the night, a solid but not quite Hit worthy match between Matt Hardy and Kane, plus a solid women's tag team match. In addition to that, there was the Smackdown Rebound (which I almost always prefer over a Raw Rebound, but last week's Smackdown was so bad with the non-explanation from Teddy Long - not sure if it was supposed to be an actual explanation or not - and the horrible horrible horrible scene when Undertaker kidnapped Long in his limo that I didn't need to sit through it again). Also, the weekly Superstar video package featured Batista, a Smackdown wrestler. With only a short match from Raw, which could use more time considering the lack of time given to the mid card each week on Raw, and a short match from ECW, which could use more time since they only have an hour to begin with, the balance was way off this week.
