Instant Reaction - TNA Impact Wrestling 3/22
By Benjamin Tucker, PWTorch TV specialist

Overall Score - 4.0

What's happened?! After about three or four weeks of good shows, TNA has slowly stumbled back into a rut of bad shows, with more power struggles, nonsensical stories, and poor wrestling. Sure, WWE Raw didn't have a lot of wrestling this week as they approach WrestleMania, but it still had better overall quality than tonight's TNA show. What is the reasoning for giving Hogan the GM role AGAIN?! Isn't he the one who took the company away from Dixie for a full year? Sting's logic made little sense. It's like giving Ric Flair the keys to a winery because he says that he's changed and no longer drinks. What person COULD believe him?! The character Dixie Carter plays is one terrible businesswoman. And, that was one hokey end to the show. Come on everyone, let's chant for Hulk! Yeah! Do you believe? Come on everyone, BELIEVE! The entire story was pretty inane.

The only true highlight of the show was James Storm, who cut one heck of a promo. His and Robert Roode's vignettes on their past careers were also very well done, and it was good seeing Storm get a convincing win. But, did he really need to win at the expense of two top main event heels in the company? Speaking of losing, why is Austin Aries now Bully Ray's punching bag? I get trying to get heat back on Ray, but why portray the X Division as a bunch of helpless munchkins? The four-way X Title match itself was entertaining, but very sloppy, with especially Ion and Nese having issues getting into position for certain spots.

The rest of the show was really just there. The Garett-Angle stuff was a re-hash of last week (and I didn't like it then), and the Tag Title matches were nothing special, unless you absolutely crave Eric Young comedy. Oh, could someone explain to me the whole "Repo Games" thing? If you don't get the answers right on the TV show, the host steals your car and your women (who then suffer from Stockholm Syndrome)? All of those segments just did not belong, and only brought down what was one of the worst Impacts of 2012 so far. This was not a good overall start for the build-up to Lockdown.
