PWTorch Specialists Roundtable: What is the #1 question to be answered at WrestleMania 28 tonight?
Jon Mezzera, PWTorch Hits & Misses specialist
The only question I want answered at WrestleMania this year is the identity of the mystery GM.
Okay, I had to get that joke in there. The real biggest question is who will take the loss in Rock vs. Cena. I doubt that The Streak will come to an end, and while I really don't know the outcome of either of the top title matches, I am more curious about who wins the main event, which is a good thing for WWE. They botched a lot of the hype for this match, but they at least left me (and presumably most viewers) with the feeling of wanting to see who is actually going to win, which is a plus. That is the most interesting question that will be settled at the show itself - who wins, will it be clean, and will there be outside interference?
However, my biggest question in terms of WrestleMania won't likely be answered just yet, and that is what happens after WrestleMania. Once Rock, Undertaker, Triple H, and Shawn Michaels are gone, where does WWE go from here? Do they try again and announce a match for next year's WrestleMania (huge mistake)? If there is a Punk vs. Jericho re-match in Chicago at Extreme Rule, where does that leave Cena? When will Cena get back into the WWE Title picture where he hasn't been in the last four or five months? Now that there is one GM for both shows, then what happens to the brand split? Is there a need for a Draft this year? April should be interesting with all those questions, but as far as what is revealed at WrestleMania, the biggest question is does Rock do the job in Miami? (Read Mezzera's Raw & Smackdown Hits & Misses columns breaking down each week's show.)

Going into WrestleMania, I'm finding that something I feel has been missing from some of the WrestleManias of years past is this show "feels" big. Credit it to the year-long Rock-Cena build, the "end of an era" build-up, or just overall strong work to promote the show (and on a purely personal note, I love the visual of the outdoor event), but this years show seems special to me.
As for the number one question I want to see resolved, it's whether Undertaker is, in fact, bald now. I kid. The number one question I'd like answered is how they are going to pull off Shawn Michaels's involvement. My instinct is that he will try to take out Undertaker but accidentally cost Hunter the match, although my preference would be the two were in cahoots (cahoots, I say!) all along to try and end The Streak.
Either way, it's been excellent build-up to what will certainly be a spectacle in Miami. I anticipate that Taker-Hunter will go on third from the end. (WWE will almost certainly put the Divas out there to cool the crowd off before the main event, which, I suppose, technically means Maria Menounos is co-main eventing WrestleMania...Which is fun.) And, I expect nothing but an all-out effort from both men on the big stage. If Shawn Michaels's involvement is kept to a minimum, and made dramatic, this one should be very memorable. Number 2 question I want answered? "Hey! Is that Brock Lesnar?' (Read Kyght's PPV Evaluation column on major PPVs, including WM28.)

Well, I think first and foremost, we should get the big, obvious question out of the way: How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop? We would have found out 35 years ago, but that moron owl kept biting it. I think we should combine this pressing food question with the other pressing food and beverage question of our day: What is the official name for crushed ice drinks? Slushie? Slurpee? Squishy? Icee? Here's the game plan: we assemble a console of food industry mega-minds to vote and debate the name question while a gaggle of foodies in isolation chambers to count licks. Kill two birds with one stone, you know? That's a messed-up saying...and requires a hell of a throw. Unless it's some kind of giant stone and you're dropping it on sitting birds...let's move on.
The third most pressing question I'd like answered at WrestleMania (and amusingly the first wrestling question), is how will The Rock be involved next year. He's coming back. He's mentioned interest before. Is Rock-Cena the first of a three-match series (please no!) or one of an escalating story that ties into Cena's entire character? Or, you know, a lame one-off match that WWE thinks will drum up more buys forgetting that $65 is a little steep for curiosity? Either way - wait, can I ask one more question? Please? Okay, I'll make it quick. How does the gang from Scooby-Doo pay for all the gas in the Mystery Machine? They never get paid. I've never seen a client pay them in anything but aww-shucks wisdom, shadow puppet tips, and random deposits of dog food where no dogs are present. I bet it's Obama...pshhh. (Read Cress's Alphabet Soup column on Raw & Smackdown each week.)

The number one question to be answered at Mania 28 is pretty simple: What will the implications be for the Rock-Cena finish? If Rocky wins, does this lead to the heel turn that Cena so badly needs and likely match trilogy between he and Rock? Meanwhile, if Cena wins, how do they do it in a manner where Rock's ego isn't bruised? I've been confused for a while now because I expected them to have a finish and plan in-place since announcing the match last year, but can we really trust Creative to use this properly beyond a spectacle? Either way, I'm more interested in that match outcome than I have been for any match since Punk-Cena at Money In The Bank last summer.
