In Brief: In 2005, Jakks captured the Eddie Guerrero-Rey Mysterio rivalry with a special two-pack of figures that were released just weeks after Guerrero's death.

- Action Figure Spotlight #39: Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio Jakks Adrenaline Series 15
- Originally released: 2005
- What you can expect to pay: $25-30 packaged; $8-10 per figure loose
- Recent sales: None

Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio wrestled one another in dozens of spectacular matches, from a WCW Cruiserweight Title match at Halloween Havoc ’97 to a brutal WWE ladder match in 2005.

One of the most memorable moments between the two took place in 2005, when Guerrero turned heel on his long-time friend and tag team partner. He dropped Rey with a brainbuster on the ring steps and tore his mask before sneering and walking away in disgust.

Jakks-Pacific captured this moment with a special two-pack released as a part of the 15th series of Adrenaline figures. Guerrero’s figure is wearing a suit, and he clutches a white cloth Mysterio mask in his left hand. The unique Mysterio figure features a torn mask, exposing part of his face.

Sports collectibles in general have a somewhat morbid tradition of spiking in value after a person’s death, and this two-pack was no exception. The two-pack was released shortly after Guerrero’s death in 2005, which resulted in collectors scooping them up at retail stores and selling them on eBay for inflated prices. The two-pack initially carried a suggested retail price of around $15, and in late 2005 was selling for upwards of $80 on the secondary market.

Prices have dropped considerably since then, but the figures are still popular with fans of Mysterio and Guerrero. The figures don’t surface often, but when they do a packaged set can usually be found for $25-30. Loose figures usually sell for under $10 each.

There have been dozens of Mysterio figures over the years, but this figure is somewhat unique due to the torn mask. The cloth mask packaged in Guerrero’s left hand was also a nice touch.

Toys R Us is offering collectors the chance to obtain an exclusive figure of Triple H’s chief operating officer persona. The latest figure of Triple H shows him in a gray suit, and can be obtained by mailing in three proofs-of-purchase from any Mattel WWE action figure, plus $5 shipping. Toys R Us offered a similar Vince McMahon figure last summer, and lately that figure has been selling in the $75-100 range. More information on the Triple H figure can be found at this link from Repository.WWE.com .
