WWE Raw Reax #6: "Randy slid a little on his delivery, but still came through fine." Sep 11, 2007 - 4:25:44 PM
Terrie Neilson of Las Vegas, Nev. (8.0-2.0): Best: The payoff of the son angle; London vs. Cade. Worst: Santino vs. Sandman. I gave this show two scores tonight: one for whether or not I was entertained, which I was; the other for whether or not it did anything spectacular for Unforgiven, which it barely did. Outside of the last build for Orton-Cena, Raw going home to Unforgiven was a complete disaster. I actually thought that London & Kendrick got booed for the way they didn't let Cade & Murdoch get away with their cheating. They did have the mistakes of Rednecks-Hardys to learn from. If they give London and Kendrick a chance to explain that, that they already expected the cheating and went to nip it in the bud even if it wasn't the most right thing to do, then they'll likely be forgiven. Shelton-Triple H was marred in all kinds of ways. Some people may talk of clout being the problem here (and I refrain from being a part of that discussion), but Ross practically gives it away that there could have been more to the match for Shelton, especially when he can't for the life of him remember the year Shelton beat Triple H. Maybe they didn't want to remind people that it's been almost that long since Shelton got a good push. If you take away the outside noise, the match itself was fine. They telegraphed Cena's run-in on Orton way before Coach even did; seriously bad continuity form there. Despite that, the door is open again for Coach to either turn before Regal's return or feud with Regal when he gets back. Meanwhile, Randy slid a little on his delivery, but still came through fine. Santino is allegedly on THE list and yet he is still on TV. I'm assuming he's serving his suspension differently? And why did it take forever and a day for the finish of Khali-Hardy to be called? I think even Ross and Lawler had to buy time. Was Batista fashionably late or something? If only Unforgiven were one week later, the McMahon payoff and the PPV build would be separate but equal and fine. If certain things didn't happen to certain people, it does make you wonder who it would have been if Hornswoggle wasn't the choice from the start. As an episode, Raw was fine if you didn't have to think about it, lousy if you did.
E.S. (4.5): Best Match: Paul London vs. Lance Cade. Worst Match: Boobs McGee vs. Boobs McGee. Worst Day in WWE History: September 10th, 2007. Hornswoggle? I will wait 30 days, and if Mr. Kennedy doesn't return with proof that he IS the illegitimate son, I'll only be watching one hour of wrestling per week. But, hey, TNA goes two hours in less than a month. Things are looking up.
Paul G of Manchester, England. (-10). Best: Candice's Trousers and Bra. Worst: The whole f---in' show. I'm at a loss for words. I stayed up til 2 a.m. (when we broadcast Raw in the UK) to watch what was set to be the most exciting episode of Raw in a long while and words can not express my anger and disbelief of the evenings events. I feel I cheated myself out of a good night's sleep. Just when the creative team have a somewhat interesting storyline which actually made people want to watch, they screw it up in spectacular fashion which seems to be expected with every storyline Dunn and Steph get their hands on. The matches leading up to the revealing were rough at best. Could Marella-Sandman have sucked any more than it did, and do they actually know that the Singapore cane is only affective when you actually hit the other person with it? Triple H vs. Carlito should be good at Unforgiven. Why does John Cena have to look like a retarded seagull every time he has to show extreme anger on his face? Stephanie/Kevin Dunn, please actually do something right this decade and put the belt on Orton. Hell, I don't even care if it goes on to Big Daddy V, we've Cena nuff - a line which is as old as his championship reign. I heard a hilarious joke two months ago which still makes me laugh, WWE think Khali is championship material. Gets me every time. But not as big as a joke than finding out who McMahon's bastard son is. This story had potential. Great potential. If it was a serious wrestler who was chosen, they could have quite easily started the Road to WrestleMania 24 last night. But no. They decide to give the "honor" to a midget. Does WWE and the creative team actually want fans to turn their backs on the company? Is this further punishment to Kennedy, will this joke of a storyline be on his head? This story says nothing like "I'm Vince McMahon I run the show and don't you forget it" has ever done. Well Vince, this is one loyal viewer has had enough. Christian, Angle at al did right by jumping ship to where the real action is. Rest In Peace - Not a reference to the Deadman's Unforgiven return, simply a statement of the single flimsy shred of creativity WWE had left in them.

PWTORCH FORMAT CONVENTIONS
For the sake of clarity to our readers (and to save us time editing these same things over and over), please follow these simple conventions when writing Torch Reax:
-Wrestlers teaming together should be connected with "&" symbol (e.g. Hunter & Michaels, Devon & Ray) or with a "/" (e.g. Animal/Hawk, Harris/Storm), but not dashes and not the word "and."
-To designate wrestlers who are fighting, feuding, or wrestling each other, put a dash (-) between them (e.g. Michaels-McMahon, Jarrett-Sting, Hogan-Andre) or use "vs."
-The word versus should always be abbreviated this way: "vs." with a period afterward (not "v." or "v/s" or "VS" or "VS." or any other way).
-Plus, it's just our policy, but we don't indulge wrestling promotions' strange spelling fetishes where they spell Raw, Smackdown, Heat, Impact, etc. with the haphazard capitalization of various leTTeRz. It seems very "junior high," so no Raw (it's Raw), no iMPACT (it's Impact), etc.
-Please try to avoid overuse of dot-dot-dots. If you have a thought that's "trailing off," you can use for effect, but otherwise, just use periods, commas, and our personal favorite, semicolons if you dare. We have always had a policy of only one exclamation point and no ALL CAPS. Let your words convey the meaning of your point. There's many to choose from out there.
