WWE Raw Reax #2: "Do us a favor Hunter and tear another quad."

Z.F. of Houston, Tex. (2.0): Best Match: Hardy vs. Benjamin. Worst Match: Flag Match. Remember when a horrible PPV used to almost guarantee a good Raw the following night? Me neither. For about 15 minutes last night, I thought there was a chance, albeit small, that Vince was going to let some quality wrestling carry the wafer thin roster through the end of this month's suspensions. Hardy vs. Benjamin was excellent, but then there was not another real match for almost an hour! Why not give folks like Paul London, Carlito, hell even Val Venis, ten minutes to work a decent match. And someone needs to clue the smarks in that it's no longer hip to boo Cena and drone on and on about how he can't wrestle. It's about as dated as H's rehashed DX material from last year's cutting room floor. There's a lot worse things to focus that negative energy on, but whatever - the boos are what keeps the title on him anyway.

Gary Cantrell of Lorton, Va (2.0): Best Match: Benjamin vs. Hardy Worst Match: Triple H squashing the Raw tag divsion. Well, it's times like this where you wish Hunter was still out on an injury. I seriously challenge anyone to argue a justifiable reason as to why Hunter should have done this. It was bad enough that he squashed the tag team champions, but London & Kenrick? C'mon. There is simply no excuse for that. Do us a favor Hunter and tear another quad. I'm really becoming impressed with the Cena-Orton dynamic on television and I'm overall happy that the Hornswaggle-McMahon segments didn't bigfoot everything else.

Terry of Reynoldsburg, Ohio (1.0): Best Match: Jeff Hardy vs. Shelton Benjamin. Worst Match: Tie between McMahon and Hornswoggle and Cena's father and Orton. Last night was truly one of those shows that made me embarrassed to be a wrestling fan. It's pretty bad when your ten year old son looks at you and says "Dad, this is stupid." I was hoping that chant would break out during the "adoption" segment. How great would it have been when Coach told Cena he would strip him of his title if his dad didn't wrestle, Cena's dad walks in and says then he will sue WWE and Orton for assaulting him twice. I know we are supposed to suspend belief, but how far? So much for the tag team division when a singles wrestler who isn't even the number one contender to any title wipes out both champions and challengers. Santino is coming along nicely, but there is this "comedy" aura around him that needs to be dropped before he will be taken seriously. I will give props to the WWE for keeping (yet another) Diva Search to WWE.com. At least we aren't being subjected to that.

Daren C. of Hindman, Ky. (4.5): Best Match: Hardy-Benjamin, Orton-Cena beatdown, Worst Match: Triple H vs. Tag Team Division. I have been a diehard WWE fan for 20 years, and never before have I been more ashamed to call myself a WWE fan. Not when we had Mae Young/Mark Henry as a couple, not thru the Katie Vick angle, not thru the hell year of Triple H as Champ, not thru the crucifixition of Stephanie, etc.  Raw has great potential, as evidenced by the opening IC Title match. Great back and forth action between two young, talented wrestlers who have been stuck in midcard limbo because of "creative." Then we go into the usual, mundane show that is known as Raw. We get a "flag match" that has no build up, no reasoning behind the match at all. At this point, I was even willing to watch Super Nanny with my wife. However, during commercials I continue torturing myself and keep turning to Raw. The Hornswoggle-Vince angle is interesting at times, but it's getting old having Triple H plugged into it so often with his lame jokes (except the shillelagh, that even made me laugh). Then we get the Triple H weekly destruction of previously built up, credible wrestlers as destroyed the tag champs, and why the hell not knock out the #1 contenders too? Just as I was thinking, "Triple H is going to give London & Kendrick the rub..." BAM, the true Triple H comes out and he destroys L&K... Here's hoping the whole dang tag division comes out and helps Carlito tear both of Triple H's quads next week.  For as ''important'' as the tag teams are, turn 'em all heel for one week, then back to their original form the next, no one will care apparently. Then we get the women's match, which was decent at best, however, the Beth-Candice interaction was surprisingly good. Last, but not least, we see what young talent can do to close a show, Randy Orton is the best heel Raw's had since Edge went to Smackdown! Loved the chants directed at Cena to close the show, can anyone in WWE hear the voice of the fans? Give Orton the belt at No Mercy! Sadly, I won't be ordering, because WWE doesn't give a damn about the fans. I miss the Attitude Era!

Want your voice to be heard inside of WWE headquarters tomorrow morning? Or in TNA headquarters? This is the independent site many people in both groups read to gauge fan feedback. PWTORCH FORMAT CONVENTIONS

For the sake of clarity to our readers (and to save us time editing these same things over and over), please follow these simple conventions when writing Torch Reax:

-Wrestlers teaming together should be connected with "&" symbol (e.g. Hunter & Michaels, Devon & Ray) or with a "/" (e.g. Animal/Hawk, Harris/Storm), but not dashes and not the word "and."

-To designate wrestlers who are fighting, feuding, or wrestling each other, put a dash (-) between them (e.g. Michaels-McMahon, Jarrett-Sting, Hogan-Andre) or use "vs."

-The word versus should always be abbreviated this way: "vs." with a period afterward (not "v." or "v/s" or "VS" or "VS." or any other way).

-Plus, it's just our policy, but we don't indulge wrestling promotions' strange spelling fetishes where they spell Raw, Smackdown, Heat, Impact, etc. with the haphazard capitalization of various leTTeRz. It seems very "junior high," so no Raw (it's Raw), no iMPACT (it's Impact), etc.

-Please try to avoid overuse of dot-dot-dots. If you have a thought that's "trailing off," you can use for effect, but otherwise, just use periods, commas, and our personal favorite, semicolons if you dare. We have always had a policy of only one exclamation point and no ALL CAPS. Let your words convey the meaning of your point. There's many to choose from out there.
